Ya I did a search and couldn't find anything on chinese news. All of it from Vietnamese and Indian "news" that reference the Vietnamese one. So the reliability of it is really low.

Also drones don't form a fireball and fall out of the sky. It just stop working and drop. That's how u know it's basically BS.
Actually, it happened in Vietnam when they hired a S. Korean drone team for a drone show with 4050 drones in Hanoi to celebrate the Lunar New Year in Jan. 2025 but failed in rehearsal. A lot of drones crashed and burnt. This is real but now in China. The show was then cancelled. Check the news link from VnExpress site below.

I heard the unconfirmed news saying that the Korean bought the drone parts from Shenzhen, China and assembled the drones by themselves, then wrote their own control codes. The incident was actually caused by the buggy codes that the Korean wrote and the result was a big disaster. On the Vietnamese side, did not know why they did not hire the Chinese drone team for the demo. The original plan was to use 3000 drones but the Vietnamese wanted the Korean to add more drones to the show, and the 1050 more drones were added. Maybe some codes were added in a hurry to control the extra drones, which led to a bigger mass.

This is why the Americans think engineering is easy. No QA/QC, and just think can throw shit together like building Lego. Then when shit hits the fan they just blame the parts or code and not realize they didn't read the manual or parts are not compatible. O right, engineering is actual hard.

This is also why Vietnam is not to be feared, they just don't have the mass STEM talent as China or the deep pool of educated skilled workers.

Totally agree with you. Take a look at the 737-max accidents and the F-35 crashes, both blamed to the codes written by hired Indian software engineers, who did not even know what the sets of codes were for. Then someone in Boeing & Lockheed Martin just put them together into the planes, and the results were quite obvious fatal.
