Can pakistan first consider completely conquering itself? It is struggling to contain the violence from BLA and TTP in its own territory. If that can't be done, how is it feasible for Pakistan to enter Afghanistan proper? Taliban currently still possesses (at the common infantryman level) more advanced weaponry than the Pakistani army itself.
What are you talking about? Who cares if they have nice infantry equipment, they have no tanks and no airforce!

And you think an airforce is sufficient for occupying and keeping the occupation of a country? If that was possible, US, with an airforce probably 100 times more capable than Pakistan, would not have found any issue in Afghanistan, Vietnam, even Korea.

Tanks again have multiple counters, including mobile ATGMs.

@tamsen_ikard your claims of afghanistan hating pakistan merre existence is inflammatory lie that tries to demonize afghanistan, that small campaign lasted only 1 year, that's very short campaign from a country that hate their "mere existence" as you said.

Pakistan is not the US or even a big western country that can invade another country while having the backing of the west, and pakistan will not have backing from russia or india or other ASEAN countries, and they'll be lucky if China gave them some backing.

Your "conquering" will just lead to pakistan been threatend & blackmailed by the west to implement their policies, like gender equality and changes to the education system, which will lead to rallies from afghans and they'll see pakistan as a US's proxy -- > therefore more uprisings, more operations even inside of pakistan,...etc.

And Pakistan will have to manage a country that was torn out by the Soviet & US occupation, and every failure will be Pakistan's fault.
India and countries that have enemosity against pakistan, like Israel, will have the biggest laugh out of this "idea" of yours.

You don't know what you talk about, so stop your warmongering and inflammatory posts.

@tamsen_ikard

And by the way, this is afghanistan thread not pakistan's, so why you post about pakistan conquering afghanistan in afghanistan forum not the pakistani one?!

because you want to inflame the situation and you hope both nations to go to war so that both pay the cost of war, not because Pakistan's interest, if it was you'd have at least posted this in it's forum.

Its time for Pakistan to fully conquer Afghanistan and achieve complete strategic depth. Take out the Taliban for good and install a more pro-pakistan govt if full annexation is unpalatable.

Afghanistan's mineral resources will be very useful for Pakistan's economy. and they can also bring needed civilizational advancement in Afghan society.

Pakistan is not a white/european country. They have the needed religious and tribal ties to seep into afghan society and conquer afghanistan properly.
Historically, conquest always comes from the north. India/Pakistan get conquered, despite having numerically much larger armies. And if they go north into the mountains, they don't do very well. 500 years ago, another emir of Kabul conquered the lands of what today is Pakistan and Delhi. Maybe history will repeat itself. Akundzhada might be the new Babur

Is there anyone with inside information who can talk about the root causes of the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan this time?
I just remember Trump recently saying he wanted to reopen military bases in Afghanistan. Is this conflict related to that?

It‘s an ongoing border conflict that predates Trump being POTUS. Afghanistan‘s dominant ethnic group Pashtuns also make up a sizeable portion in western Pakistan so Afghanistan feels entitled to some areas in Pakistan which is the origin of the conflict. It has nothing to do with Trump who is just a rumbling old man who says whatever comes to his mind.

Nah it's been going ever since Pakistan declared independence. Basically it's an ethnic conflict due to Afghanistan seeing the Pashtun areas of Pakistan as being part of Afghanistan and they even invaded Pakistan.
