Power Armor?

Would super heavily armored suits even be commonplace? If you're adding full coverage ballistic plates, a powered exoskeleton + batteries, equipment, plus the soldier, that could weigh upwards of 150+ kg. At that point, that weight could trigger AT mines, which would absolutely destroy the suit and kill the wearer.

Rather have robot dogs than a suit. Situations that you need the suit for, send the robot dogs. Suits won't stop you from HMGs, rpgs or artillery.

This is the similar super heavy MBTs vs stuff like the type 100 tank and support network thought process again.

You could have both, as it would be one part of a whole combat system. The suit would protect you from some things like smaller caliber guns or shrapnel from smaller explosives. You can then have thicker armor at selective locations, say 2-inch titanium front plates to protect your torso from even 50 cal rounds. You can then have armored soldiers advancing with robot dogs and other vehicles on fiber optic and/or some sort of near field communication leashes.

Imagine a future IFV with an unmanned 40mm cannon capable of both direct and indirect fire, carrying 3 soldiers (driver, commander and/or gunner), 6 robot dogs, and 2 drones, arriving to the front by a forest line. The soldiers dismount with their robot dogs marching in front, attaching the fiber optic leash when encountering jamming to eliminate the jamming source. When needed the IFVs parked farther back can provide direct or indirect fire support, or relay signals to heavier fire support further back.
