You seem missed the point. Fastners/rivets/screws/fixtures will all leave visible dots on the body before its final treatment right? I was pointing out that the gray area in question does not have any such dots visible.

All screws and rivets are fasteners and composite components fasteners can be screws and rivets even if they are not always metal.

Found this photo of F-35, fastner is just unbrella term including rivet and screw. Also remember recent report of manufactural error of F-35 was due to using non-titanium rivet instead of titanium one.

These are rivets and J-35, F-35 etc definitely do not use these as composites are not bonded via rivets. Look closely at the fastners used on the F-35, definitely not rivets.

You are getting funnier, let me try one last time. Start with F-35.

What do you call these "fastners"?

And what do you call those standing bolts on F-35?

Regarding how China does it including J-35 and more, I have a Chinese research paper on method of installing composite skin on aircraft , but I will just save this thread from being derailed.

Composites use fastners not rivets or screws
Fasteners are just a category of parts that includes bolts, screws and rivets, you might be confusing fastener with bolts, composites usually uses bolts instead of screws because one does not usually make threads in composites parts, but the distinction is rhetorical because the nut is usually bonded in the form of inserts into the composite parts during composite production, so during final assembly the fastener are effectively screws.

Allegedly J-35A's cockpit (can't confirm if it's actually the A variant specifically):

It’s 100% the J-35A - the J-35A has the RAM air intake on the same side as the refuelling probe while the J-35 has it on the opposite side. If you look at the full photo in the next post neither of them are shown, meaning both are on the other side -> it’s the J-35A.

We also saw WanQuan’s (I think it was him?) photo of the J-35’s cockpit with three MFDs (instead of one large one like in this photo) right after the 9.3 parade so you can tell it’s not the J-35’s cockpit :)

(P.S. Sorry for replying this late and messing up the flow of the conversation, was out of town for a few days and just checked back in today.)

honestly this really intrigued me, I thought I was tripping when I remembered that the J35 has 3 small screens instead of a "single" large screen, I wonder if that was just a placeholder thing or is there an actual difference between the airforce and navy ones

Even much older J-16 has a large single screen. J-35 cockpit with large touch screen has been shown in air show mock ups many times in the past.
