BS excuse. Malays consist a large part of the minority yet Malaysia is way more pro-China.
Malays in both Singapore and Malaysia are anti-Western principally because of Islamic anti-Zionism; they are not pro-China except in an "enemy of my enemy" sense. Anti-Chinese sentiment is a close second (sometimes equal) priority for both communities as well. The difference between the two countries is that in Malaysia, Malays can safely align with China against the West without being accused of selling out Malays to Chinese domination, because Malaysian Chinese are now a small and shrinking minority. Even then, these accusations still happen, like for example all of PM Najib Razak's projects involving China were attacked by Malay extremists as Chinese colonialism and several of them got cancelled after he lost the election. In Singapore, where Chinese are 70% of the population and the government has a generous policy of immigration preference for foreign ethnic Chinese to shore up Chinese numbers from shrinking, Malays will never align with China because both China and the west are considered immediate enemies to Singapore Malays.

Trump proposes aid for U.S. soybean growers as he seeks trade deal with China

President Donald Trump is proposing a new aid package for soybean farmers in the United States as he pursues a trade agreement with China.

The Associated Press reported that China, one of the major buyers of U.S. soybeans, has remained cautious about increasing purchases under current conditions, citing concerns about price, demand, and supply chain issues.

Under Trump's plan, U.S. soybean producers would receive direct federal payments intended to offset losses stemming from reduced Chinese demand. The aid would be structured through a government‑run program rather than via additional tariffs or other trade penalties.

A senior aide to Trump said the assistance is aimed at helping farmers "stay afloat" during the ongoing negotiations. The aid would also serve as a bargaining chip in talks with Beijing, the aide added.

Analysts note that while some farmers have urged the federal government for support, there is disagreement over whether aid will ultimately strengthen or weaken long‑term trade leverage.

Critics argue that subsidizing agricultural production could reduce the urgency for China to follow through on purchase commitments.

In response to Trump's proposal, government officials have not yet confirmed details about the scale, timing, or eligibility of the aid program. Some agriculture industry groups signaled cautious optimism, saying that relief may be necessary given market uncertainty but emphasizing the need for clear terms and accountability.

In China, state media outlets have reaffirmed the country's desire for a "balanced and mutually beneficial" trade relationship, but have not publicly committed to specific actions on U.S. farm imports in response to the
The aid would also serve as a bargaining chip in talks with Beijing, the aide added.

The bailout will serve as leverage against China.

I'm pretty well versed. It doesn't matter even if I wasn't, tampering with their history as an outsider isn't going to go down well. Nobody wants outsiders to interfere with their culture.
More than 30 million Chinese (8% of the total population) died due to Japs’ invasion of China. Japs committed unspeakable heinous crimes against Chinese civilians. The Jap emperor Hirohito played a very important role in that. The Jap emperor Hirohito escaped punishment thanks to American‘s need for the war against the communists and China’s weakness at the time. If Japs dares to get in a fight with China, Chinese leadership must make sure Japan is neutered as a nation and never regain the ability to make war ever again, that includes the abolition of the emperor institution .

Are people not reading and understanding?

I didn't say China shouldn't slap them up if they attacked China, I made a post specifically about abolishing the institution.

To give you some context, bear in mind that one of the most senior officers of the IJA during the Nanjing Masscre was Prince Asaka, and he was literally the uncle of Emperor Hirohito. While I don't think that China would have much interest in removing the Japanese Imperial family, I can see why some Chinese are going to feel that it should.

However, if Japan were to join a war against China, I don't think that China would leave it unscathed. An occupation or large scale invasion aren't feasible, but China formally taking the Senkaku Islands is a foregone conclusion. I also see a small chance of China splitting out Okinawa from Japan and reestablishing the nation of Ryukyu again.
Japan doesn't have nuclear weapons currently, there are many Japanese who feel they should but many don't want it. If an outside force tries to remove their institution no matter the reason then very quickly China will have a "Ukraine problem" on its doorstep. This has ripple effects and other neighbors will take measures that will make life difficult for China. If China decides to get into adventurism, it will have to drain resources maintaining it and we can see the folly in this system.

It's one thing if Japan re-militarizes and attacked China tomorrow, any action would be understandable. It's another thing to use 20th century grievances to remove an institution that has lasted centuries. China has become a super power and outclasses Japan, their emperor is a gloried mascot, Japan will not invade China because their leadership understand the stupidity in that so what's the rah-rah about destroying their cultural institution? You don't have to make me understand injustice, I understand the humiliation that comes with colonization. My people were subjected to the worst form of chattel slavery, brutal colonization and near genocide by outsiders. Blacks had to march just to be treated like human beings and given the right to vote as recently as the 1960s, so I know all about the feeling.

At least Shinzo Abe was your usual politician with their political forked tongue. I don’t see that with Sanae Takaichi. She is clearly pushing for conflict with China in some form. Most likely going to set the stage to drag Japan into joining the US war against China.

Diplomatic relations with China get under her skin and threats to send Japanese troops to Taiwan. She seems more like those European chihuahuas than a career politician like Shinzo Abe.

Excellent if she does.

Japanese military might, while certainly credible on a global level, is basically an irrelevance in terms of a superpower clash between China and America. Not even the Japanese themselves are delusional enough to think their involvement would magically tip the balance in America’s favour.

The kind of idiotic slave animal mentality needed to proactively push to make your country and collective race essentially grave goods for your foreign overlords funeral is beyond contemptible.

If Japan does stick its nose into a Taiwan conflict, the very best outcome they could realistically hope to expect is to be de-nazified and ruled over by China with a PLA occupation force instead of the American one they will be kicking out.

If China was feeling less charitable and wanted to make it into a teachable moment, they can expect to be stripped back to their core islands (maybe not even that, as the Cuban Guantanamo model will also serve) in terms of territory, be thoroughly deindustrialised via explosive decommissioning of its industry, and hope China is charitable enough to leave enough of its power and transport infrastructure left to allow a semblance of normal life to resume after.

But what is actually more likely is that America will be unsatisfied after China’s lightening takeover of Taiwan and obliteration of its and Japan’s expeditionary forces and instead try to turn Japan into an Eastern Ukraine. They will seek to bolster Japanese homeland defences while simultaneously mounting harassment attacks against Chinese targets from Japanese soil hoping to goad China into a ground invasion of Japan, so they can defeat the PLA in ‘proper’ face to face fighting rather than the ‘weak’ and ‘dishonourable’ Chinese way of obliterating their planes and ships wholesale at extended ranges with swarms of PL15/16/17s and hypersonics.

They might think they are being clever and thinking outside of the box, but a modern Operation Downfall has been a key unspoken objective of the PLAN modernisation for literally decades. What do you think all of the PLAN’s LPDs, LHDs and now LHAs are for? Taiwan? Ha! That would be like buying a top of the line premium motorhome to go camping in your back garden.

Indeed, I would go as far as to say that if it really happened and Japan and America militarily intervened in a Taiwan conflict, the first thing China will do is from a broader geopolitical standpoint is to force South Korea to show its cards immediately.

China will not tolerate a similar situation to Ukraine where ostensibly neutral 3rd parties are actively operating as part of opfor kill chains at extreme close range and immune from retaliation. SK’s choice at that point is to basically kick out the Americans and actively flip to China’s side, or get annihilated by a combined NK and PLA firestorm to pave the way for the full scale invasion of the Japanese home islands.

As strategically speaking, SK is the perfect launchpad for an invasion of the Japanese home islands for China, since PLA air and missile power can make the Sea of Japan a no man’s land for Japanese and American naval and air forces, while the PLAN will own the East China Sea to feed in naval forces for both escorts and the amphibious fleets. Especially after the PLAN has secured key parts of the Ryukyu islands as bulwark against hostile naval incursions into the second island chain. That would basically be the mid-tier acceptable victory conduction for China in a AR scenario involving direct and open combat with American and allied forces.

You and what army?

Pipe down hombre, nothing will happen. China will be China and Japan will remain Japan.
And Taiwan is part of China and any attempt to mess with that will incur Chinas wrath and if abolishing the institutions in Japan that allow for this screwing around with Chinas land is what it will take to cease there stupidity for good along with trampling anything that gives them any hope of such a action, so be it. Just because the one country two system is in existence right now and the USA is abusing it to their advantage now doesn’t mean that China is going to let this happen forever. Not only will they get rid of this stupid loophole for good but also make the USA pay for this blatant spitting on Chinese sovereignty when the time is right. Heck, they shouldn’t be surprised when this happens either. Clearly you have no idea now sensitive this issue to China really is.

But I feel that Malaysia is one election away from turning into a Malay Muslim Hindutva-style state.

This! I just met an elderly retired school headmistress and she was quite distraught and disillusioned with everything that's happening in recent months in Malaysia. She feels that there is no longer any hope for non malays. I was quite surprised as she has always been a very loyal malaysian who insists that no matter the bad things happening in Malaysia, it still is a very good country that takes care of it's people. I guess if people like her are worried and disillusioned, then things have become really bad.
