Venezuelan here. From the footage I have seen, our forces use the qbz-97b, which some having an eotech looking sights.

Does any users here that are PAP/PLA, or have acquaintances, comment on how they felt using the qbz-191/192? As ergonomics, how it feels to shot, the recoil, etc. or at least post Chinese links where it is discussed. Would be even better if they also used ak or western weapons for a subjective comparison.

I just wanna give a rough comparison in my mind on how good buying a qbz-191 compared to just buying an m4a1 or ak-103. Sad that unit price still seems classified.

Based on my experience with the QBZ191 and the Type 95, the 191 has significantly improved ergonomics and manufacturing process over the Type 95. However, I'm only an artilleryman and don't have as much experience with rifles as infantrymen, so I'm sorry I can't answer you too much.

Closest thing I got is this:

"Let me put it this way: I shot a 95-1 and hit 43 rings my first time. After doing more, as long as the gun was properly aligned, I could consistently hit 45 rings and above, but I never once hit 50 rings. Its lowest sight, level 3, was incredibly frustrating. Burst-firing, I'd usually hit 5 out of 10 rounds in five bursts, occasionally 6.

After switching to the 191, the only 50 ring I ever hit was on my first try with it. Level 1 is truly amazing. Burst-firing results haven't changed much. Recoil is practically identical to the 95-1, and muzzle jump is similar, but the 191 is more comfortable to fire than the 95-1.

The selector is very user-friendly, requiring only a thumb movement. Best of all, the magazine release is quick; just extend your middle finger and gently push the magazine. When I first received it, everyone practiced quick magazine changes during breaks in training.

And, at its shortest stock, the 191 is a few millimeters shorter than the 95-1.

However, the 191 is 100 grams heavier than the 95-1. My lower Armament III scores are definitely due to the 191."

So, what I get is that full auto and burst is identical to qbz-95-1 in terms of recoil control. Semi auto is much more accurate. Ergonomics and shooting is much more comfortable. Selector switch and magazine change is much better. Can Baozi or anyone who knows Mandarin confirm if the translation is accurate? Lower sight, level 3, likely means burst fire.

In an unrelated answer, it was claimed that the gun as a max dispersal of 15 cm at 300 meters, which was a MOA of like 2.

Recoil is practically non-existent.
It seems like the qbz-191 is quite competitive against m4a1 and hk416. I dunno how much it costs, but if the price is ok (around $1000 range like m4) then it would be a good option for third world police and elite militaries.

I dunno who and why decided it would be a good idea to procure qbz-97b. Funny thing is that we could be using any of the three export calibers.
