"Having the side by side setup. To me, as a former F-15E combat fighter pilot, having flown in that tandem setup, to me, it's just more user friendly having that tandem cockpit setup and having that 360° view. that's unimpeded by another person. No offense, bro, but I don't want to sit next to someone while I'm trying to do fighter operations, while I'm doing stealth targeting. I want to have a 360° target view around me so nothing is distracting from that."

4th gen dudebro who's unaware of 5th gen SA, let alone 6th gen SA. It's like a MiG-21F pilot dumping on an F-14/15/18.
Exactly , most the ex-fighter pilots on youtube didn't ever fly in any 5th gen platform , and they for the most part cannot comprehend how futrue air warfare looks like.
Their opinion is just mostly out of both ignorance , and more importantly the typical soldier thing of "I don't like this new thing", you hear most retried fighter pilot talk about F35, the same way the soldiers back in 1960s talking about switching from M14 to M16, or how these days some soldiers talk about thermal sights.

Equivalent of Mig 21 pilot talking shit about F-22.

Wait until he finds out that people sitting in rows within AEW&C aircraft conduct much more complex tasks without seeing anything outside.

The side-by-side seating is something weird to latch onto, given that most bombers, many helicopters and other aircraft have this sort of layout. Tandem seating is overall an exception and generally done because it's easier to implement into an already existing airframe without immense changes. But when you design an aircraft from the ground up to be centered around two people, there's no disadvantage in going side-by-side. In fact, with the Su-27KUB and Su-34 the Russians found it to be worthwhile to do major modifications to the airframe to implement that seating arrangement for these aircraft.

It's even a dedicated military channel, but the quality of the program and the comment section is so poor that it's almost kindergarten level. After watching the video, I felt like the folds of my brain were smoothed out.
There was a semi-subtle shift around May this year where arguments by the plebs in the comments sections went from evidence based to boast based. That is, the confidence in their own systems was lost so they have now shifted to Indian style "I believe what I say, and I say it because I believe it".
The reactions to the tweet in the other thread of some boba lib in the US attending a fancy dinner with all Harvard (or Stanford) grads was exactly this - the pain of a people who have finally accepted their place. They know that it's beyond their abilities to win back that status, so all that's left for them is bitching.

you know military types have to do something after they get out of the service to make money?
theres absolutely a culture of worshipping servicemembers in the us and all the calculated aggression that some of our trained killers learned (or were selected for) in the service is used to grift this demographic. the entire guntube community of sf dudebros and the siegementality-fueled prepper subculture are other examples of what is really just another consumer fashion industry. there is absolutely nothing preventing veterans from exploiting the credibility gained by their station to sell you things that you might otherwise be skeptical about. i noticed a brand of gun lube that emphasized its ownership by ex-navy seals. sounds like a winning endorsement right? i looked it up later and it's really just roller coaster grease. of course, they're free to repack and resell as they please, because it is our own responsibility to look out for ourselves. but we have to be cognizant that it is possible for our confidence to be abused in the first place, and there are a lot of people who are all too trusting.

with that said, note the nature of the video thumbnail. there's a clear, psychology-informed format in designing youtube thumbnails that is proven to generate clicks -- an expressive face, arrows defining the topical focus. this is the same meta used to success by all the youtube content mills, like mrbeast. it's a clear telltale that anyone using this format is engineering their product with click generation as a primary objective.

Ex-US pilot thinks that J-36 is just a slightly better version of J-20

What made you think we should take his opinion seriously?
  • Does he know J-36's flight envelope? Climb rate? Turn rate? Acceleration rate? Max speed? Max ceiling? Duration at max speed? Duration at max ceiling?
  • Does he know J-36's RCS from all directions from different frequencies?
  • Does he know the types of avionics installed onboard?
  • Does he know those avionics' performance parameters? Radar max power output? Duration at max power? Operating frequencies? Ability to shift frequencies? Speed at switching frequencies? A/D converter performance? Signal processing capabilities?
  • Does he know the ECM capabilities of J-36? Sensitivities of the system? How fast it can replicate received signals and send them out?
  • Does he know all the above about J-20?

I usually don't watch these Caucasian(Western) analysts.. They all repeat the same thing about Western systems are better, western products are better, China is going to collapse. Caucasians are trying very hard to maintain their power.

Many surveys will tell you that 21th is the Asia century.
