GaN radar array is certainly bigger on the J-20 than the array that could fit in the F35 but its hard to compare capabilities. Power available and cooling for the radar is possibly better on J-20, F-35 have trouble with that aspect and without real engine upgrades, not sure how they will manage block 4.
It's not that hard to compare.

Latest J-20 is using GaN-on-SiC TR modules and F-35 is using GaA TR modules. J-20's radar tech is 2 generation ahead. Even with APG-85, J-20's tech will still be one step ahead.

Generations are all well and good, but how much of an actual detection ability difference does it translate into, especially against small LO targets like cruise missiles?

Interesting  J-20S (or J-20AS IMO) number 78933 seems to be painted in the regular two-tone grey camouflage instead of the new dark-grey one.

Pardon in case I missed this, but is there some source for this available?

If you were trying to imply it was the WS-15, it’s not. Because the WS-15 has a thin bronze/brown collar with a much longer nozzle petal. That’s distinctly different than any WS-10 VariantsIMG_0670-min.jpegIMG_0671.jpeg

Visual note, the WS-10C2 has roughly a 25% longer nozzle than the WS-10C, while the WS-15 appears to be 20% longer than the WS-10C2. This may help some identify the differences as well.

I speculate that it is a dark grey tone -- but that the image has increased the brightness, and also that aircraft with the dark grey tone are still two tone on the dorsal side of the aircraft (but perhaps in a darker grey two tone).

Bonus - WS-10C vs the alleged WS-10C2/CXX (seemly used on 2035/37/5X):

I'm just catching up with all the images I at best saw when I was in Rome but could properly save ... what's the Weibo-account where this comparison of both WS-10C variants was posted?

You are correct!
