We should all take this at face value. My logic is that the more Trump needs to proclaim himself as a winner, the more concessions he needed to give in real life. Trump failed to meditate Russia-Ukraine War and has civil unrest at home. Thus he needed to spin this into a massive win. Also, it seems that Bessent was not happy at the outcome.

US Prepares to Order Departure of All Nonessential Staff From Baghdad Embassy, Officials Say

WASHINGTON (AP) — The State Department is preparing to order the departure of all nonessential personnel from the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad due to the potential for regional unrest, two U.S. officials said Wednesday.

The Baghdad embassy has already been on limited staffing, and the order will not affect a large number of personnel, but the department also is authorizing the departure of nonessential personnel and family members from Bahrain and Kuwait.

That gives them an option on whether to leave the country.

The Pentagon is standing by to support a potential evacuation of U.S. personnel from U.S. Embassy Baghdad, another U.S. official said.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity to detail plans that have not been made public.

Iran negotiations must be going pretty well if you need to order people to leave Bahrain. An island that is sandwiched between the coastlines of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

What kind of "trade deal" is this? Does China really cares if Chinese students are allowed to study in the US or not? It looks more like a wishlist from the American side. So far, the only thing that has been agreed upon seems to be some kind of "frame work", whatever it means. Let's wait and see.

This student visa thing is probably not even part of the London talks. More likely US reversed the decision on its own, because even before the London talks concluded, Trump told reporters that Chinese student ban would be lifted. He said a very similar thing as today's tweet, that he has no problems with Chinese students in US.
On the other hand Hassette was asked about what US was offering to China during London talks and he mentioned things like chip design software, jet engine parts, chemicals and nuclear materials. Nothing about student visas.
