I deleted my post after I realised that he was not referring to any link or any source, but reacting to postings of other members. And my message seem to be out of line vs his posting contents or posting style. LOL!Why delete it? It is actually the best option!
Hard disagree. China couldn't benefit from a long range bomber until recently. Especially the Tu-160 is no cheap aircraft. It is a huge and swing wing aircraft that flies using four unicorn engines. Establishing the base infrastructure and maintenance networks for that aircraft would be very expensive. And it is doubtful if China could get more than 10 until the late-2010s. Even Russia itself couldn't restart the production until very recently.Man, hopefully won't take as long as 95/96. Basically not getting the Ukrainians to sell the Tu-160 in the 90's set back the new strategic bomber program by 35 years.
