I think it is likely the C929 will initially use a Rolls-Royce engine, similar to the A350's engines, and later CJ-2000.
I posted this here because PD-35 was originally developed for this Chinese aircraft. It might still be an option in case there are issues with getting Western engines and Chinese engine is delayed.
Still, the PD-35 is at least one year away from production. It needs to be tested in flight. This has not been funded yet, just ground tests. Given the Russian government still has not decided on the power level of the initial variant it possibly will be delayed to 2030.
