If not Indian military targets, are you suggesting Pakistan to hit Indian civilians? That sounds like when someone hit you, instead of hitting him you hit his children and wife. That wouldn't look good for you.
I'm suggesting they might not even carry out the strike at all. If these planes shot down are confirmed they've already humiliated the IAF enough to the point they could just spin it as a win

Although Pakistani generals may be naïve and corrupt enough to cut deals with the U.S. in exchange for a few dollars or foreign citizenships for their children, public sentiment has drastically shifted since the 2022 Regime Change Operation (RCO). The widespread anger among the local population post RCO makes retaliation almost inevitable; without it, the military establishment risks losing its relevance and control over the country permanently.

In my opinion, given this context, a strike likely targeting military installations and critical infrastructure such as dams is highly probable, similar to how India previously targeted the Neelum–Jhelum project.

As much credit as we might want to give to PAF, CAC, AVIC, etc. How poorly was this operation planned?
Did they simply believe that Pakistan would not fire at them?
Did they actually believe that Chinese weapons are completely worthless?
Macron gonna send you an honorary invite to the Élysée Palace for you to give a lecture expanding this view. Your powerpoint is to be titled, "Indian Incompetence, NOT French Mis-Engineering." Hope you like French food; Xi and his wife sure don't.
Ah yes, treating your more than $100 million fighter as a disposable ELINT drone! Bravo! Encore!
$100M?? Nahh, the price for wanting to fly advanced aircraft without the competence to develop them is much higher than that. Those 36 Rafales were purchased for 7.9B Euros, so basically $250M each. The next 26 are basically $290M each.
