That will start adding up when it becomes a reoccurring fine, which is what they are saying. Unless they agree to EU demands. I wonder how much revenue Apple stands to lose if payment and apps are processed outside of Apple business ecosystem.
Technically it wouldn’t matter, Apple is a complete close loop, that’s why it can function as it has, opening it up would compromise security at every level, something they can’t afford to happen far more than fines.

So they will have to work something out with the EU. For this one, I honestly feel bad for Apple, they already bend the knee with type-c and now they have to kiss the ring again because of Trump.

Trump triples tariffs to 90% on small parcels from mainland China, Hong Kong

New rate on packages priced up to US$800 will be 90 per cent of their value, or US$75, up from the original levy of 30 per cent, or US$25

Wanted to test this out so I ordered a fidget spinner from Aliexpress. USPS delivered it like good little bitches, no trouble, no delay, no tariffs. Now I have to order more cus my kids are scratching at each others' faces fighting over who gets to play with it. Thanks, fake news.

On the other hand, I'm starting to think that nothing Trump asks for is implemented. When he wants to do something crazy, the people around him are just like, "Yup, ok grandpa. Yes, we sent the navy to kill all the sharks in the ocean; they're on it now... yes, using the nuclear missiles you asked for." Then in 2 weeks when he cancels the policy and they never did it in the first place, everything evens out and is where it should be anyway.

Has anyone in Singapore been drinking too much western latte or something because this dumb bitch - the wife of then Singapore's PM- has just embarrassed the man and his father's legacy for being with someone who typifies the worst aspects of HANJIAN mentality.

Singapore must be thinking it's too big for its britches.

Not apocryphal, and it's Canada, not Australia, during the Meng Wanzhou saga.

This is kind of interesting to read in hindsight. Simply full of L's
Yet Mr. Bolton, a longtime China hawk, felt it was worth the risk
We know what happened to this moron...

The White House had a lot riding on the case. Huawei was on the other side of a contest for control of 5G, the wireless network slated to ferry data to billions of devices worldwide. It was a fight the U.S. didn’t want to lose.
They gave a bone to Ericsson and Nokia, but Huawei remains #1 in 5G equipment marketshare, so another L

Huawei also lost the license to load Google software on its phones and tablets. As sales plunged, Huawei considered shifting into electric cars.
Ooops, just created one of the top EV suppliers in the world somehow. Also, phone sales have recovered... Americans even want Huawei phones

Trump administration officials believed the students were exploiting U.S. research to advance China’s military. All pleaded not guilty.

The west never engages in hostage diplomacy! Although, let's face it, they will never admit this since they still insist that they were not the hostage takers in the first place. This is in spite of all the evidence that shows everything was done to maximize shock (To Meng herself, the company, China, even to Trump).

Finally, Canada huge L.
Basically proved itself to indeed be the lapdog of the US, further cementing this status by the glazing (hate this word, but too appropriate here) of old man Biden, then pimp-slapped by Trump.
Then further lost by being embarrassed by Spavor turning on Korvig and "outing" (only to the naive really) him as an intelligence asset and the whole thing had to be quietly settled by the government.

He laid off too many people to successfully implement any of this.

Fundamentally ships aren't sailing and that's what kills them, inability to actually collect tariffs means they don't even benefit from tax revenue, which is on brand for American competency.
