Kellogg Gets Cheeky on Trump’s 24-Hour War Claim: “We Didn’t Say What Day or What Year!”​

Keith Kellogg, the U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine and Russia under President Donald Trump, commented on Trump’s promise to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours.

“Remember the president [Trump] said he was gonna end the war in 24 hours. We didn’t say what day or what year,” Kellogg said during the Council on Foreign Relations discussion on “Securing Ukraine’s Future.”

Kellogg also recalled that Donald Trump sees potential in the prospect of Kyiv regaining control over some Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia. However, he did not specify which territories.

During his campaign, Donald Trump pledged to swiftly end the war in Ukraine, claiming he could do it within “24 hours” of taking office—or even before his inauguration.

This Kellogg’s statement comes amid U.S. President Donald Trump halting military aid to Ukraine and the U.S. temporarily suspending intelligence sharing with Kyiv.

We get news that the Russians are breaking through into Kursk. Even KyivPost is saying Sudzha could come under full or partial encirclement. Then Trump comes out an hour after the news threatening huge tariffs and sanctions unless Russians agrees to a ceasefire.

And because tyranny of distance + difference in national power, US will lose/draft a lot more men. Their only asset is quantity and only in terms of how big the starting army is.

MacArthur is famous for running the longest stretch in American history during the Korean war.

But what is less known about him is that he also ran from an under strength Imperial Japanese Army (at the time, less than 30% of Japan's forces were devoted to fighting US) in the Philippines, losing a whole country in the process.

Hopefully America doesn't send another MacArthur, but an American Syrsky... We don't want US to run away, we need them to send all the conscripts so every last one together with their associates can be denazified...

But you forget that for the US at least a lot of their frontline grunts will be comprised of minorities, blacks, hispanics, etc.

Surely at this point threat of sanctions doesn't make a difference for Russia at all.

Chances are the threat isn’t on Russia itself. They are threatening sanctions on everyone else who conducts trade or have economic relations with Russia as they said before. Because China isn’t turning off the LNG pipeline or their trade under US coercion but India will probably bend their knees.
