Whichever way the election goes one thing that can be gleaned is that no matter where you are in the world, the amount of people with strong political convictions who make politics a part of their personal identity are always going to be in the minority. Humans are simple beings, with simple needs and this extends to their voting patterns. If they're happy with how much they're being paid and likewise how much they have to pay for groceries, gas, and housing, then they'll give the ruling party their mandate. If they're not, then they don't, easy to decipher as 1 2 3.
Democrats kept emphasizing Trump's racism and bad behavior, but what does that do? His racism and bad behavior is exactly why he won so many fans to begin with, Democrat rhetoric ain't going to have an effect on ordinary folk living day to day who normally don't follow politics. As the campaign went on Trump kept getting nastier and nastier, ie. he kept giving his fans more of what they wanted. Meanwhile Democrats ideaologically speaking kept getting more and more fragmented with uncharismatic leaders, the genocide in Palestine, and the unmistakeable decay of America's big cities.
But in the end, it all comes down to the economy stupid. The race is not over yet, but the fact its this close and Trump is performing this well, should be nothing less than the nail in the coffin of all those boasts in the past four years of 3% GDP growth, American economy being 10 trillion dollars bigger than China's, record low unemployment, etc.
