Now, I can sort-of understand more on why
@Patchwork_Chimera had to literally non-stop banging his head onto his work desk, his bathroom wall and his steering wheel on his way to work/home every day, with Peter Zeihan/Ian Easton-type people populating the entire DC...
Why bother even studying such things? Are they trying to convince the Chinese people that its government is spending money on wasteful things like national security? Or is this just like COVID-19 deaths where the US wants the attention off the US to claim China is worse? Every time I see an article about how much money China is spending on its military, the author or a commentator will ask what enemy does China have to need a military to protect itself from...? This coming from the side that openly says they want to destroy the Chinese economy just because they can't handle the competition and Western domination over the world is threatened?
What happened to how they wanted to treat China like how the US did with the Soviet Union where they spent the last part of the Cold War trying to keep up with the US, primarily militarily, that forced the Soviet Union in bankruptcy. China needs to spend money on the military in order for that to happen. It's like how the West wants Chinese tourists spending money in their countries but they don't want the sight Chinese in their countries. If the West were to takeover China like they'd like to, they would claim into order to balance imaginary trade deficits, the Chinese will to have buy to fill a quota every year from them the most environmentally friendly product ever called a widget at a $1000 per.
