— "The Biden administration has approved funding for the first-ever transfer of US military equipment to Taiwan under a program typically saved for sovereign nations, according to a notification sent to Congress on Tuesday.

The package – which is part of the State Department’s foreign military financing (FMF) program – totals $80 million and will be paid for by US taxpayers.

“FMF will be used to strengthen Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities through joint and combined defense capability and enhanced maritime domain awareness and maritime security capability,” the department wrote in its notification to Congress that was reviewed by CNN."

— Focus Taiwan: Unprovoked attack on Taiwan to trigger 'resolute reaction': U.S. lawmaker

— "U.S. Representative Robert Wittman said that "any hostile, unprovoked attack on Taiwan will result in a resolute reaction from the United States," during a meeting with President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) at the Presidential Office in Taipei Friday.

Wittman, a Republican who serves as vice chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, told Tsai that the U.S. would do "everything possible" to ensure peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific and it was committed to building up and projecting strength in the region.

"Strength is the best deterrence to anyone that may think there's an opportunity to act badly in this region," said Wittman, who arrived in Taiwan on Thursday night."

— Al-Jazeera: Presidential hopeful Lai says Taiwan’s sovereignty is ‘a fact’
— "Taiwanese vice president and presidential hopeful William Lai Ching-te has underlined Taiwan’s status as a sovereign nation and said that the world knows that China is to blame for a recent rise in tensions.

At a press conference for foreign journalists on Friday, ruling Democratic Progressive Party candidate Lai said that the island has proven its status as a country through its democratic actions.

“Taiwan holds regular elections for our president, vice president, legislators, officials, mayors and local government leaders, and they serve the people, so I think this shows that it is a fact that Taiwan is a sovereign country,” Lai said. “This is a fact, this is the truth.”"

India's Adani Group is facing a fresh controversy after a new report says it used "opaque" funds to bypass rules that prevent share price manipulation.

The report was published on Thursday by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), a global network of investigative journalists. The Guardian and Financial Times also published stories based on documents they provided.

Adani Group’s market value drops another $4.4 billion. That’s the largest monthly decline since the more than $150 billion wipeout over the first two months of the year after similar allegations from Hindenburg.

With how split the anti-DPP votes are among different candidates, it looks like Lai is going to win no matter how unpopular he is. Another successful electoral manipulation by the US.

Wouldn't these sanctions make India no longer fit to be in BRICS by Modi logic?

Terry Gou is trying to arrange a meeting between the three opposition candidates but I doubt anything will come out of it. None of them seems to be willing to back down.

I am afraid we are looking at the 4 more years of DPP rule and that provocations and humiliations of China will only intensify under Lai's presidency who by all accounts is even more radical in his beliefs than Tsai.

Standard play book of the American, sponsoring multiple candidates to diminished the chance of KMT winning or a slim majority that effectively make it a lame duck administration. Just look at the American electoral system, they didn't encourage a third party or candidates, they know the risk with the current political divisiveness.

Seriously, this can't be allowed to go on indefinitely.

The US is supporting their puppet DPP with the full arsenal of American misinformation expertise, continuously pushing taiwanese to hate the mainland and making peaceful reunification impossible.

It will only get bad to worse because the perception is that the mainland won't do anything about it.

China needs to do something to punish Taiwanese separatist voters, even if it involves significant economic cost to itself.

It's a dillema that Chinese political leadership will have to face. Either they make the move on Taiwan province by the end of decade when the outcome of their confrontation with the U.S. is more uncertain or wait for 15-20 years to achieve overwhelming military superiority but in the meantime risk looking like a country that is incapable of safeguarding its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Too late bro . Intel foundry business is screwed up.:rolleyes:
Indians are occasionally capable of maintaining businesses that people of other ethnicities founded. They can be, at best, decent managers when the people working under them are not Indian. When the people working under them are Indian...well then you get the country of India lol
