A Palestinian family evicted from their home in the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem's old city following a decades-long legal battle were ordered to pay Israel Police and Israeli settlers tens of thousands of shekels to cover the costs of the eviction.

The Sub Laban family was evicted from their home because the home was owned by Jews before 1948. Israeli law allows Jews to claim property that was left in what was prior to 1948 part of Jordan, but denies Palestinians from doing the same in lands that are now part of Israel.

Nora Gheith Sub Laban, the family matriarch, had been living in the house since she was born there in 1955. The family have fought multiple lawsuits since the 1980s seeking to have them removed from the property. 13 years ago, the state ordered that the house be moved to the ownership of a Jewish community trust (kadesh) that was controlled by right-wing activists. The last eviction order had been issued earlier this summer.

In July, Nora and her husband Mustafa were ordered to evacuate the house. At about 6 A.M. one morning, a large police force blocked off the whole area and about 20 police officers broke into the house and extracted Mustafa and six left-wing Israeli activists that stayed with him. Nora was away receiving medical treatment at the time of the eviction.

In a letter the family received ten days ago, they were told they would need to pay for 160 hours of policing at 104.5 shekels per hour, which totals at 17,187 shekels ($4,613). The family was also ordered to pay more than 17,000 shekels to the company that carried out the eviction. This is on top of a 13,000 shekel debt the family owes for legal expenses to the Israeli settlers who brought about their eviction.

"To ask victims of war crimes to pay for the crimes committed against them is an entirely new level of cruelty from the Israeli apartheid regime," says Rafat, Nora and Mustafa's son. "How can Israelis continue to justify this oppression? How can the international community and the world keep being silent? We are tired and can't take this anymore," he added.

This Goldman person not understand Gulf Arabs. They will buy products that are competitive, but it does not mean they will not diversify globally. They would like to have trade surplus with countries like Japan and Korea and than use those surpluses to buy investments in various countries that have free flow of capital among them. US with global presence can help Arabs in making sound investment decisions in various countries. Arabs have there own vision how world should be reshaped which may coincide with US or they may want to wait until in there opinion US has effective leader like Trump. Gulf Arabs are ruthless and unforgiving. Just look at recent history around Mideast. Macron wanted to get popularize himself in Lebanon all he got was standing on rubble in Bierut and financial Sunami unleashed on lebanon.

What's wrong with those Mig-21s? Didn't the Indian Airforce say that it had shot down a Pakistani F-16 with one of those?

The MiG-29s were moved to the Srinagar air base in January this year and have flown extensively in the Kashmir valley along with the Ladakh sector where they would be one of the first to respond in case of any air space violation attempts by the Chinese.

When did the Chinese ever violated Indian airspace? And where exactly is Indian airspace being defined? Do you think China don't have answers to Mig-29s?

The MiG-29s were also the 1st aircraft to have been deployed in the Ladakh sector for tacking the threat from the Chinese side after the Galwan clash of 2020 and have thwarted multiple such attempts since then.

Please do try that. Let's see how those Mig-29s and aerial tankers come back to land safely at the Srinagar air base. Please do add the Rafales into the mix too for the extra fun.

I saw a TikTok video by an American athlete participating in the 2023 Chengdu FISU World Games, and he was talking about how cool the culture of Chengdu was, delicious food, and city landscape is so modern.
