Awesome! lawman on patrol wearing a "Colt Single Action Army"! with a belt full of ammo!

The "Wake Island Avengers", (why yes, of course I've been to "Wake Island"! twice!),,, Heh! Heh! Heh! yep people shouldn't be assuming these boys are not ready to rock in roll?? they are "Armed, and Dangerous!"

as I've stated many times, this airplane is ready to defend freedom today! that's the benefit that we are right now reaping from "concurrency", otherwise they would be 5 or 10 years out, and that my friend is unacceptable.....

while pressing 'Like' now and wanting to believe it's more than photo-ops what's going on, I'll wait to see what and when F-35s achieve in combat (for example bombing something in Syria with the Red Air Force around)

wait are you perhaps implying the F-35 development was "fast"? all I've heard of were delays LOL

NO, I'm stating as a fact, and for the record that concurrency, while fraut with peril, as you design/develop/build/and fly an aircraft concurrently, (means you have to go back and fix things that crack/break/fall off???), is done in order to facilitate having an operational aircraft/weapons system that is ready to patrol/fight whatever today, rather than waiting an additional five or ten years..

As you have noted it is "expensive", no doubt it is, but we have over 200+ F-35s flying as opposed to the Russian Su-57, maybe 10??? or the Chinese J-20, maybe 20???

you will no doubt, always be a doubter???, but the USMC, and USAF are convinced they will fight and beat ANY adversary today if the need arises, and IMHO their putting these aircraft in harms way bears substantially more weight than an (admittedly bright) Sino Defense poster, whose not sure if they are ready???

I'm convinced, and if you would put that amazing noggin of yours in "overdrive"?? you would be too,,, as before, my suggestion for the benefit of all of SDF is that you apply that critical thinking to the J-20, Su-57, and Eurofighter.

by the way, I love you man, but for the record, I wish you would put on those "flying goggle" and get up to speed on aviation "Lindberg"??? leave the flying to us??

Concurrency means you have to fix DESIGN faults on a larger number of early production aircraft

Yes, it does mean more aircraft in service earlier. But remember that the US is in a stealth fighter arms race with itself, given that the F-22 fleet already exists and the huge production numbers anticipated for the F-35.

So it would have been more efficient for concurrency to have been abandoned, and more aircraft ordered once the design was finalised.

In comparison, concurrency makes more sense for the J-20 (China) or Su-57 (Russia)
China and Russia don't have a large fleet of stealth fighters, so even the limited introduction of initial fighters (using interim engines) represents a huge leap in capability for Russia/China.

Well, it makes for a much better final aircraft, because you're not done designing when the first dozen test aircraft are flying, but you're able to keep the design blueprint open.. so you can fix those early birds now, or you can fly them as is, and fix them at your convenience later on, just as we did with the F-22....

We are not in an arms race with ourselves, we are building capability against a potential numerically superior force. It was absolute stupidity to cap F-22 production at 187, so we are building F-35's rapidly in order to cushion the potential shortfall when we elect another BHO...

Its always better to have more airplane than you need?? than not to have enough airplane, and get your butt kicked, by someone who doesn't "play by your rules"!

but hey, its a big dangerous world, there are lots of people I don't trust, being on SDF has shown me the wisdom of maintaining air superiority,,, sadly there are lots of nasty people in this world... most Govt's do not respect my Freedom, while my Govt's far from perfect, no doubt, its still the best thing going on the planet honestly?? of course people here all entitled to their own opinions??

but for my money, I've very, very happy with the F-35, and the F-35 program,,, we ended up with a lot more airplane than we expected, a LOT more airplane, look at the RIAT display, that last "break out" says it all, all that LockMart goodness, in a 100 million dollar airplane, that my friend is a bargain!

is a great part, implying either the Pentagon or me, the SDF Jura, could be wrong, sure, 'make your choice'

now I'm literally laughing loud, my wife's coming ... have to stop so that she doesn't see this, LOL!
