In that case I think I'll agree. It's true to a certain extent.
Here is another big case.
From a cyber security firm report
From ZD Net reporting the report;
of course, like anything else in China, including J-20, J-31, DF-41, 5G, etc ...are the product of hacking ... happy now?
Japan was far from clean. This is was one big case.
Literally today, my friend showed me an email from his American Medical Genetics company that asked all of the Chinese Directors to gather information that clearly amounted to classified intel on Chinese rival companies as they wanted to expand their operations to China and compete with the local guys there. The email said that they were selected for their Chinese language abilities but it was clear that the company targeted only its Chinese Directors and none of the lower downs because they knew the directors had colleagues in China who might be able to provide information. All of the Chinese directors politely replied in the email stream that they did not know how to gather this information and whatever they find could be inaccurate, causing wrong decisions to be made but in the Chinese secret Wechat group, they all remarked how this dirty company wanted to use them as spies against their own country.
Everybody wants to use espionage to get ahead. The only difference is who is successful.
what type of "classified intel on Chinese rival companies", like salaries?
You had to bring a case nearly 40 years ago to make your argument?LoL
Haha, that's an appetizer. They were sent a long list that started with the most innocent information like president's name and market capital to the most devious. If that list stopped at salaries, they probably could have gotten it because although that's a gray zone, lots of people talk about it and eventually all competitive companies have to pay competitive salaries. The list progressed to ask for sample volume, client information, specific technologies used including current limitations, research directions, etc...
whoever seeks clandestine information through an email, is dumb

This is actually one of the biggest and most well-branded Genetics Diagnostic firms in the US with ties to one of the top medical schools, but anyway...
