I don't know but US helping China in a war against Japan was ok, but when it comes to helping out Philippines or Vietnam or whoever against PRC's moves in South China Sea it's imperialistic and wrong.

Make your minds once and for all for heaven's sake... In this very thread we can see PRC's Minister of Foreign Affairs (or maybe Chairman Xi himself, I can't decide judging from tone but it must be someone important for sure to speak such bold words like what 'China will' or 'China won't' do) writing stuff likelol, user called @antiterror13 followed me after my post in this thread probably to counter every post I write on this board (I think I should write you about that I don't even read it - you're on my ignore list anyway. You're wasting your time anyway... maybe you'll find something elese to do in in the time you would save without another reply to my post...). He writes back at every post that I or SamuraiBlue write here. He doesn't even provide second-hand informations from Chinese BBS - all he does is replying to those posts.

Mods - please close this thread as it's purely made for bashing Japan and there's nothing informative here aside from flames of hate.
I don't remember Chinese troops landing in manila... So how did China invade Philippines again? O right they pit guys on islands that they claims for a couple of centuries before the other countries even existed.

US didn't help China because they ate awesome, mostly because there was this little thing called pearl harbour. O right, according to you Japan was liberating the Hawaiians from imperialist Americans right?

Don't forget that First Sino-Japanese War was more or less started by drunk Chinese sailors in Nagasaki. Chinese were so confident that Japanese are inferior to them in every aspect that they didn't even bother to say sorry or anything. Then boom...

... and that's how Senkaku Islands became Japanese.

I wouldn't use words like 'developed' when writing about XIX century East Asia.

Such discussions are realy dumb in my opinion.

did you learn that from Japanese textbooks ... no wonder ... you only know what you know and told ... bad mentality ;)... ok got it:p

just to remind you again .. you have been banned before ... please behave and contribute something positive to this respected forum

Your question was the situation back in 1880. Ming had an isolationist policy called

or sea ban restricting private maritime trading and coastal settlement during most of the Ming dynasty and some of the Qing. So it is not really any stretch of imagination that no nation had established administration over Senkaku isles during those time.
These islands might be used by pirates. There will have been little to administrate but the navy of any Chinese state nearby will have claimed these islands since before Japan existed.

Nope first that does not count as administered as a nation and more importantly Chinese pirates doesn't need to go 200Km out attack their own coast lines. Basically pirates of those time nor the navy operated that far from their targets.
The first envoy that traveled to Ryukyu during the Ming dynasty required guides from Ryukyu since the sailors at Fujian didn't know the route. Senkaku isles were a very important sea mark to Ryukyu isles so it is very dubious the Ming dynasty people knew about the isles before the Ryukyu people.
