Those leaf springs lift the pendant off about 5" or 6" off the deck for the hook to catch. they really need to cover it up or put a cone or something because it's really a tripping hazard for first time visitors.

Or remove them...it only takes a few minutes..

One last thing.. someone mentioned in one of the forums I visited that there were 20 J-15s aboard CV-16...Actually only 10 aboard this cruise. I wonder why?
