Are you sure? That's a prop, but the images on the hangar are twin- and single-engined jets? There is clearly a family resemblance though, so perhaps they'll also get designations in the AG-series.

Upps ... pardon !

I was a bit in a hurry this morning when I posted it and from a brief look over my collection it was the closest match. Anyway You are surely correct they are not the same.

By the way ... welcome on board.

via "cirr" / PDF ... new helicopter (type or variant) spotted?!

Factory designation - Type A903
What is it?New heavy attack helicopter? New stealth helicopter? Unknown type? :enjoy::D

Most interesting any info on what factory?

Otherwise given its shape I don't think it is a combat helicopter and for its size it is difficult to assume if it is as big as a Z-18 development - so maybe the wide-fuselage version ? - or a bit smaller, more in the size of an NH-90 or S-70/Z-20??

It's quite peculiar. The long nose is not something seen on any existing helicopter designs in china. And the side sponson is visible and it seems VERY big. Overall size of the whole things is a bit hard to deduce from this angle...

A year or so back there was a press release from AVIC saying they would "roll out" a helicopter that was "much more advanced" than Z-10 within two years, which coincided with news of a stealth helicopter under development too.

While I think the shape of this helicopter going by the cover resembles the shape of a transport helicopter (such as a rumoured Z-18 derivative), I can't help but wonder if it may also be one of those projects...

The factory is Changhe... so it is most likely a variant of the Z-18 and the nose reminds me on the Z-18A.

I'm under the impression that these two are the same project: China is working on a stealthy heavy attack helicopter, and if everything goes according to plan, it would be revealed sometime next year.

The text doesn't say anything about whether this is a transport or attack helicopter, only that it used "paperless" design process (i.e. CAD), and that the team worked day and night to ensure its timely handover.

According to the photo below, the chief 'electrical engineer' of this project previously worked on many Z-8 variants. I'm leaning toward this being a transport.

Looks like transport by the size.

Also, notice the bulge in the back? Either a folded tail for naval use or Chinese style raider?

On second thought, bulge is probably the back landing wheels.
