Pakistani air force General Paracha clearly states after flying the aircraft---that the engine in the J11 is of chinese origin.

End of I don't believe it---I did not see it---do you have a link---this link is not worth it---I need proof---show me the govt release---etc etc etc.

Pardon, but was that ever in question? The version flown during Shaheen VI were the J-11B and BS from the 111th Brigade and consequently clearly WS-10A-powered.

BVR or WVR?

If it was WVR (even though we don't know the RoE) this means the skill of the PLAAF/PLAN pilots have reached incredible heights. Pakistani pilots are some of the best dogfighters in the world. Only few years ago even the PLAAF J-10 pilots got their a$$es kicked in WVR by the PAF polits flying Mirage III :confused:. PAF won the overall WVR battle that year 7 to 3. Remember the PLAAF flew the J-10 which is a very agile fighter. PLAAF won the BVR battle either 6 to 4 or 7 to 3 that year. This was several years back but I can't remember exactly when.

Did I miss this? when did this happen and where was the source from? o_O

As for the results of air combat exercises, imo always take the "results" with a grain of salt no matter who the result "favours". the terms of the exercise in a given exercise is important context.

Pretty sure the victories the Mirage IIIs scored were against J-7s and not J-10s.

A part of the Mirage III are " Rose " variant upgraded with radar Griffo but normaly armed with only AIM-9, for dogfight Delta fighters have a very good ITR but less good STR but ofc in more only armed with AIM-9 don't want J-10 can eventually beat J-10 with a better driver and there is always a luck factor

Wait till the PLAAF pilots get into WVR fights with Indian Su-30MKIs. Although I agree that PLAAF pilots' skills have increased in recent years, Indian pilots with Su-30MKIs have defeated USAF pilots with F-15Cs in WVR more than once (Red Flag Exercises). However, the Indian pilots largely relied on their TVCs to defeat the F-15Cs. Still, if the J-10s and J-11s fail to take out the Su-30MKIs at BVR in a hypothetical aerial encounter, I wonder if the formers' chances in taking out the latter would decrease sharply.

I am not sure that is true Indian press make is sound like the Indian prevail the competition. But I remember clearly one of US team captain said otherwise . He even mocked the Indian on youtube about how they try to use Cobra maneuver to kill the US pilot but instead the Indian bled so much energy and it drop and become an easy prey for the US team

You probably can still find it on youtube
