There's an easier way to ascertain if that's a j11d. The wingtips are of old design, made for pl-8 family. J11d has the revised ones, and this is not it.

Su33/J15 canards are on the same plane as the main wings, so they can be hard to make out in a shot like that.

If you look closely, there does appear to be a slight colour difference where you would expect the canards to be.

The vertical stabilizers except for the tip is painted in yellow zinc chromate unlike and indocator of a lack of composites like on the J11B and J16 unpainted.

It is confirmed that SAC is now in producing batch 02 even if it is not clear how large batch 01 was. The so far highest number was cn. 0207 from November 2016

The highest number for a J-11B was 06-18 and for a J-11BS 03-21, but for a J-15 only 01-10 !

For the units there were some reports + an image showing a J-16 with maybe 78x6x serials ... which would fit nicely to the 175. Brigade FTTC at Dingxin and my latest reports says the 172. Brigade at Cangzhou-Cangxian too.

For long I was expecting the 3. Division as a first J-16 unit ... but so far nothing ?!!!

Yes ... however in the second image there are 2 J-16s + 2 J-11B/BHs
