So 19th regiment? Hm..., that's a regiment previously using su27/j11. So how often does it happen within plaaf that another regiment, that used to have one type of most modern plane available, like j11b here, changes it for a completely different type? One can't replace j11b with anything more modern (j20 not being ready yet, j10b not really sharing the same role) so we're left with either:
A) that regiment changing role completely - from air superiority to multirole or to ground strike, thus needed different planes thus freeing up their new j11b.
B) regiment that previously used j11b stood down and now its assets are being distributed to other remaining regiments.
C) these j11b are new builds.
How likely are all three options? IF option C is applicable, what does it mean for j11b programme? I personally thought SAC was done with it after the two year hiatus. Now suddenly there are new planes? Where did extra capacity at SAC come from? and why? Does it mean J16 is having difficulties and is perhaps not being produced in high numbers? Perhaps only a single J16 regiment has been populated in 3 years?
