    Not sure why siegecrossbow wanted to ban thread of "Trade War with China" neither I don't understand why Deino Brigadier also banned thread of "Is the US shooting itself in the foot by banning Huawei?" Follow a wrong decision doesn't make you right, Deino. Cool head?? The persons who involved in discussions have super cool head otherwise won't last 462 and 119 pages respectively. Compare with other threads of nasty name calling, those threads have great contributions and insightful discussions from different parties, and they are very good story to tell. If you think you should ban those two threads, you should ban all threads, tell me which one, with discussed more than 2 pages had better discussions than those 2. Very disappointed!!!! I think that is you both need to keep a cool head and not people contributed in those discussions. How much you contributed? YES, a BAN!!!!!

    It's customary in these forums to close threads that get heated so that everyone can cool off.

    I think we've pretty much hashed everything there is to hash for now on those two threads. They can be re-opened when new development happens and people cool down.

    Thanks Solarz, I understand although thought it is unnecessary. As people in those discussions gave very insightful and meaningful opinions, most of the time, if ban the threads just because it is HEATED between third parties, in this case USA-China, then it is not going to re-open as we all know the trade war or rivalry between these two countries will last at least 10 years if not forever. But nothing we could do as they are moderators they could do anything they want, isn't it. It is what it is, I suppose. I really enjoy the conversations and discussions, even it is agree the disagree between those wonderful people in those two threads, could not say about other threads, but you just need to respect those opinions although not name calling, but it happened well too often, sometimes I feel why? But that is a different story. Again, I enjoy the conversation with those 2 threads, and sad to say, I don't believe these two threads will ever come back as there is no ending, war, any war, trade war or not, formal or informal, up front or behind war between USA-China in our life time. Thanks for the info, Solarz, again, have a wonderful Friday and great coming weekend.

    Yes, I thought this will come out, Jura, and admire you are very sharp. After posting that one, the first time ever, I feel terrible, so I was away from the SDF for a few months just to reflect myself. If I said that then I wont' be different from people calling the name in many threads. It was totally wrong and uncalled for. And I apologize for that. Again, my sincere apologies.

    Moderators are overly restrictive with their suppression of free speech. Closing the Trade war threads are examples of this.

    Free speech is overrated.

    From my experience with other forums, the more "freedom of speech" there is, the lower the quality of the content.

    I will admit that I take breaks from SDF now and then, because nothing that interests me is happening, but I find that I always come back, and I always find the quality of discussion on these forums to be much higher than anywhere else.

    The interesting thing about this forum is that it is an American site that is frequented by mainly pro-Chinese members. Therefore, most of the rhetoric that the mods clamp down on tend to be pro-Chinese. It can feel frustrating at times, but in the end, I think it creates a nice balance.

    I recall you as the author of the most horrendous post I've seen so far in the SDF

    (https://www.sinodefenceforum.com/china-without-tibet-and-xinjiang.t8176/page-4#post-476098 which was deleted, of course, but after a ridiculously long delay);

    funny you came with "suppression of free speech" now

    Not sure why? Have you read the forum rules? This is a rule based forum and not a free speech forum. There are a number of "Do Not". No politics, no country bashing, no flame baiting, et al. The discussions in those two threads are filled with the "do not".

    Your post is full of opinion and empty on facts. You simply have no respect for the rules and one of the golden rule is do not openly challenge any moderation. Shame on those who actually like your post.
