From what I have seen, shotguns are used among PLA/PAP recon or SOF teams along with SWAT of course. The reason for the former is most likely that China’s current SOF and recon teams are expected to engage in extremely close quarters like their predecessors did in Vietnam. That is also the reason why you see many of them using silenced submachine guns. If anyone else has a more definitive answer, please correct me.

The cameras position is fixed and the gun slides back into the camera from the recoil; watch the bipods feet.
