Re: JH-7/JH-7A Thread

how many anti-ship missiles can a JH-7A carry? any pictures
Well, Asif, I have seen a LOT of pics with them carrying two...in fact squadrons lined up to take off with two missiles. They have enough pylons and I am sure for shorter ranged missions they can carry four.

Here's a group of pictures showing two at a time...with the last picture showing four which is the only operational looking photo I have seen with four...but not flying. I have not seen a pic with one carrying four while flying though I am very sure they can:

Hope that helps.

What kind of missiles are the two on the outer underwing-pylons on the last picture?

4xYJ-83
2xPL-8
2xPL-5 ?

That's quite a punch..

Yes, but it would be significantly slower though :D

JH-7A look old and tired now .. even I am sure they are effective and get the job done.

Perhaps PLAN would need to look at the replacement .. I am talking about 10-15 years from now.

In the meantime it can be upgraded, especially engines and avionic .. can't wait to see JH-7B :)

I was under the impression that's what the J-16 (JH-16?) is for.
