Perhaps the time is ripe for China to deliver the coup de grâce by removing this wreck from Rén'ài Jiāo

Nothing is stopping China from treating that Ship as a nail house and build all around it.
I think they still hope they can sway Philippines from its current path. That's why they keep wearing the kid glove.

They will escalate things slowly over the years but still keep things rather soft. they will hope Marcos will be out of power and replaced by a pro-China leader in the future

That would be foolish. How are they going to remove the us military

That Indian youtube channel (FirstPost and Wion) said China has the largest air force in the world.

I think they are referring to the west pacific including SCS and Taiwan.

U.S is losing edge in many areas except for submarine warfare.

I also think U.S underestimated the size of China's rocket force. If you look at the car productions and see rows after rows of cars parked at the lot, you know China can produce "unlimited" amount of missiles per day.

A 055 has docked at Renai Shoal.
I personally think if you're going to refer to them as "renhai" you also need to call them cruisers.

China Southern Theatre Command recent cryptic weibo posts probably referred to happenings in the SCS instead of northern Myanmar.

Little Marcos probably asked the same question as this kid before opposing retaliating China with water cannons.

"Can nukes be installed there?"

Repost from Miscellaneous News:
Useless exercise, only practicing shooting at the enemy. As if China is some kinda pathetic 3rd world nation who would allow you to take pot shots at it without risk of return fire. You call this preparing for the worse? There are worse things to that are not yet considered in this exercise.

1) China can and will shoot back. If you don't think China can hurt you, then FAFO.
2) US will abandon the PH to China's mercy. Don't even dream that the US will fight and die alongside Filipinos when the real shooting starts. Even in WWII, the US abandoned the PH to Imperial Japan. McArthur had no qualms about abandoning the Filipinos to the mercy of the IJA, as long as he saved his white ass first. Sure McArthur came back, but only after the Japanese were already losing the war.
3) Limited ammunition. The PH produces 0 ammunition that it needs if it wants to shoot at PLAN forces. All ammunition is imported from abroad. While China can produce all the ammunition that it needs. This is not a shooting war the PH is even qualified to talk about.
4) Not enough vessels to do the island assault that the US trains you to do. Just like Ukraine, training with the US or NATO does not guarantee victory. You cannot do any island assault with that pitiful PH Navy. Doesn't matter how brave your marines are, once the PLAN sees them coming with the limited boats they have, they'll be in a world of hurt. How about the US Marines lending some boatsto the PH Marines? LOL! Dream on! The US Marines barely have enough boats for themselves.

Seems kinda unprecedented for China to do this. I think Philippines, sooner or later, will get clapped by China.

IMO this measure isn't for convincing Philippines, that's for shaping ASEAN attitudes when China slaps Philippines for acting like an idiot

China Threatens to Release Audio of Secret Deal With Philippines

  • Beijing claims Philippines had broken all terms in ‘new model’
  • Philippine officials have previously denied entering into deal
China may soon release audio of a purported phone call with a Philippine military official that Beijing claims is evidence of an agreement over disputed territory in the South China Sea, according to Chinese officials.

In the alleged Jan. 3 phone call, Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos, head of the Philippine military’s Western Command, agrees to a “new model” in handling resupply missions to the Philippine-occupied Second Thomas Shoal in the South China Sea, according to a transcript provided by Chinese officials to Bloomberg News.

The transcript may be released to the public within days, said the officials, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to speak on the record.

The transcript of the purported call cited Carlos saying that Teodoro, Ano, and the chief of staff of the Armed Forces, General Romeo Brawner, had signed off on the agreement. The name of one Philippine official – listed ahead of the others – was redacted from the transcript. Chinese officials declined to identify that person.
