So you're saying the F119 engine's nozzle shape will reduce the engine's thrust by 15-20%? Again, any sources or studies (or even forum posts from other websites) to back it up?
Because I feel like that number is being pulled out of thin air.

From hazy memory it seems 14-17 percent is the value I heard from an Indian source, but that could be reference to Russian(soviet?) experimenting with their own square nozzle. Maybe for F-22 the loss has been lowered through better design.

It seems like work on the next generation heavy attack helicopter have started, Grassroot says it will looks like a mixup between MI-28 and Apache. Let's see if this is true in few years.

Wasn't it supposed to be stealthy and have an entry-to-service date of 2020? Or is that a completely different beast?

Sounds like a different helicopter to me. Maybe this is a heavily modified Z-10 with new engines and better armor. And the future stealth helicopter is still a long way to go? I just saw Grassroot's reply in CJDBY about the look of this supposedly new helo.

Huitong is also reporting of a "heavy" attack helo, although he claims it is the same as the stealthy attack helicopter project.

I, like yourself, personally suspect that this might be an up-engined variant of the Z-10, possibly with WZ16 turboshafts and with MMW radar.

Could be two projects, one a Z10 replacement with the other intended to take over the scout role from the Z19.

A Mi28/Apache hybrid would make good sense for a heavy attack helicopter that will be used as the main workhorse, whereas a stealthy Comanche like one would make a good armed scout that can find routes through enemy air defences conventional attack helos can take without being detected and/or open up holes in enemy air defences for conventional helos to exploit by using its stealth to get close and take out radar and missile sites without being detected.

It would be kind of like the balance between capability, affordability and numbers that the PLAAF hopes to achieve with its J20+J11+J10B mix.

I'm rather surprised that we haven't heard anything about a new uprated WZ-9 turboshaft engine. Since China seems to be making progress on the WS-10 turbofan engines. Since turboshaft engines are far less demanding than turbofan engines I have expected a lot more progress on that field.

I don't think that the WZ-16 will be used on the Z-10 since that engine is jointly developed with France. There could be an issue with the French if China uses the WZ-16 on the Z-10.

There are rumours of a WZ-10 turboshaft meant for Z-20. Huitong has even suggested Z-20 may have recently been tested with WZ-10 as well. A WZ-10 at 1800 kw would be quite capable of powering a true heavy attack helicopter.
