Your fantasy Weapons System, if you could have it at home

I am pretty sure it was only ever used on screen for diagnostic and remote functions. The doctors on trek then pulled out the other parts of there kit laser scalpel, dermal and osmotic regeneraters, cordial stimulator, and another peice of medical wizardry we are on the cusp of the hypospray. The later being a needle less needle. A device that stimulates the pores to open via a ultra high frequency sonic Emissions allowing pressurized medications to be injected through the skin into the blood stream. No pain, no bleeding, no need to worry about viral infection being spread by reusing the needle. Just scrub out any residue and reload.

Thought I mentioned before that one of these would be cool.



Maybe three. One just walks an endless loop around the house, keeps the salesmen and diehard evangelists away.

One to looks at the list on the fridge every morning and do errands that I would otherwise have to do.

US Navy Carrier Strike Group...

The USN would have 16 Strike groups & 1 training carrier. The CSG would consist of;

1xCV/CVN
1xSSN
1xTiconderoga CG
6xArliegh Burke DDGs
Pre-positioned replenishment ships.

In my fantasy two of the Forrestal class CVs, Forrestal & Independence & all Kitty Hawk class remain in service.. All of these conventionally powered ships have been re-fit with four Rolls Royce MT30 powerplants and all the necessary associated equipment. The cost of the re-fits is about $4 billion USD. 1/3 the cost of a Ford class CVN. The re-fits are said to add 20+ years of life to these hulls..Forrestal remains in service as a training carrier.

CVN can now have an RCOH performed at Puget Sound NSY in Bremerton WA.

Ranger, Saratoga & Enterprise have been removed from service. Saratoga and Ranger were sunk as targets during a SINKEX experiment to improve future CVN design. Enterprise is being dismantled in Newport News VA.

In my fantasy all Ticos would still be in service and fully re-fit with VLS cells and all other updates. Including hull re-fits as necessary. That would give the USN 27 Ticos.

Because of the re-balance of the USN to the Pacific the carriers would be homeported as follows.

If I were to fantasize a fleet based on actual US warships that came close to being built, I would have included 4 Virginas (CGN-38) upgraded with Aegis, 7 Aegis equipped modified Virginias (CGN-42), and 12 strike cruisers (CSGNs). They could replace all the Ticonderogas. Arleigh Burkes would be built as they actually were.

The also allow a number of all nuclear, high strategic mobility task forces to form. This would reduce the need to forward base carriers, and also potentially allow fewer carriers overall.

With all nuclear escort, a carrier taskforce can move to the mission area and between mission areas much more quickly. So the total number of carriers in transit can be reduced. So the total number of carriers needed to achieve a given number of carriers on station would be less.
