CAIRO (Sputnik) – The Houthi forces operating in Yemen have gained control over 90 percent of the city of Aden, Houthi political council member Fadel Mutag said Thursday.

"Right now we control up to 90 percent of the Aden territory. Fights are taking place near one of the city's churches," Mutag told RIA Novosti.

He also said that Russian nationals in Yemen had nothing to fear despite the hostilities across the country.

Yemen is currently in a confrontation as Houthi forces continue to overtake areas controlled by diminishing troops loyal to President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who fled the country amid escalating fighting.

Hadi left the country in late March as Houthis made advances in Aden after he had removed there following an escape from the Yemeni capital of Sanaa.

On March 25, Hadi asked Arab League countries for military aid. A Saudi Arabia-led coalition of states quickly launched airstrikes on Houthi positions in the Yemeni capital.

Houthi forces have warned they could expand attacks to Saudi Arabia if the airstrikes continue.

The official press release

After the launch of the military operation in Yemen by the coalition forces under the leadership of Saudi Arabia, a meticulous work has been carried on for the evacuation of the Turkish citizens who are in Yemen and requesting their evacuation. During the whole process, ultimate care has been shown not to endanger the safety of our citizens, and a multifaceted approach has been pursued by considering all available options.
In this context, TCG Büyükada Frigate of the Turkish Naval Forces on mission in the adjacent waters completed the evacuation of 55 citizens who were in Aden. Our citizens will be taken firstly to Djibouti, and thence they will be transferred to Turkey by a Turkish Airlines aircraft.
We welcome the safe and sound evacuation of our citizens from Aden thanks to the devoted and skillful efforts of our relevant institutions and the initiated coordination.

The civil war in Yemen has now blossomed into a regional conflict where Saudi Arabia has created a "Decisive Storm" Coalition of itself and nine other Mid-East countries to intervene.

Basically Saudi Arabia has enlisted nine other Mid-East countries to support the military operation to defeat the Iranian backed rebels.

Saudi Arabia - 100 aircraft
Egypt - Naval Vessels
UAE - 30 aircraft
Bahrain - 15 aircraft
Kuwait - 15 aircraft
Qatar - 10 aircraft
Jordan - 6 aircraft
Morocco - 6 aircraft
Sudan - 3 aircraft
Pakistan - undetermined number of naval ships and aircraft

The US will be supplying logistical support and intelligence.

SD's own NavalRecon has reported very well on this crisis:

While we will allow comments on the forces arrayed against each other and their basic support...DO NOT make this thread about politics, ideology, or religion.

Many arab state in U.S. lead collection.

Vs Al Qaida in Jemen.

Edit1. Bad terrorists even I like to se ISIS taken northern half of Africa when they lose in Iraq and Europe they will not take no Balkan, no Greece maybe Spain after they win in Algeria and Marocco but Spain are strong nation with over 115.000 troops in Armed Forces of Spain + they are members in NATO so U.S. will taken ISIS down just like in Iraq.

U.S. do nothing in Algeria and Marocco.

Edit2. Yemen war begins before S.A. do many air strikes. In U.S. leads collection before last 1 months against Al Qaida by many arab states.

Edit3. Moderats not take this justice from me. I will speak war in this treath. Like Yemen, arab states and U.S. collection vs Al Qaida.

Many arab state in U.S. lead collection.
But this thread is about the Saudi led coalition in Yemen...no any US coalition..

Just WHAT are you trying to say here?

That you would like to see ISIS take northern Afirca? That's what it sounded like.

Yemen war begins before S.A. do many air strikes. In U.S. leads collection before last 1 months against Al Qaida by many arab states.
But this thread is not about all of that...it is about the Saudi Aranian coliation...which is not specifically targeted at Al Quida, rather at Houthi forces.

Moderators do not take this justice from me. I will speak war in this treath. Like Yemen, arab states and U.S. collection vs Al Qaida.
Jarmo, DO NOT try and instruct Moderators on what to do Jarmo.

THIS THREAD IS ABOUT the Saudi Arabian collation against Houthi forces in Yemen. YOU WILL NOT discuss those other things here.

Now, GET BACK ON TOPIC, and DO NOT instruct Moderators on SD or you will soon find yourself permanently banned.

Jarmo, this thread is not about ISIS or North Africa.

Their name ISIL (which means Islamic State Iraq and the Levant) already tells us what their goals are...which is taking over the entire "Levant."

BUT DO NOT DISCUSS THAT HERE. It is off topic.
