Around 1:15 the Z-10 fires off a missile that hits an aerial target but it doesn't look like an AAM, even though the image was tiny, does anyone know what missile that was?

Looks to be a short range TY-90 air to air missile (AAM).

I forgot about the TY-90! I can't take it seriously as an AAM as it is a super short range converted MANPAD. That said it probably makes a decent point blank weapon on an unplanned encounter with another attack helicopter, especially when the Z-10's gun, armor, and/or manouevrability might be outmatched.

From the video it looks like the TY-90 was used against another missile if you pay attention to the smoke coming from the target (horizontal). The missile range is not shorter than Mistral,Igla-V or Stinger and like it seems the seeker is good enough for Anti Missile Missile capability, well at least in headon trajectory, would be nice to see tests of it similiar to Igla-S Anti Missile Missile tests in chasing trajectory of Metis-M ATGM's.

I think TY-90 is good enough even the AH-64 E Guardians carry two Stinger missiles

Asking a helo to lift full blown air to air missiles is a big ask since AH-64 can also carry 16 x Hellfire missiles that means theoretically a Apache can kill 16 tanks or armoured vehicles, totally devastating

Serious?? That's really strange any idea what nationality Ukrainian or Russian??

If you understand the mandarin chinese it is mentioned in that video by the chief test pilot himself. Again as mentioned by others before, they (the chinese test pilots) were shocked, disappointed, humiliated that their first home grown attack helicopter was to be flown by foreign test pilots. He also mentioned in the video that it made them work extra hard at catching up to the western standards in techniques and tactics.

It doesn't matter whether a cat is white or black, as long as it catches mice.
