There are interesting and beautiful things that happen all around the world. I wanted to begin a thread that captures images of beautiful scenery, nature, places and events that makes us feel good, contemplate, be happy and grateful to share this world.

Please remember Popeye’s and Jeff’s rules:

    Let the fun begin:

The Munich Oktoberfest, which began on September 20 this year, is a huge crowd-puller and justly lays claim to being the largest of its kind in the world. Last year more than six million people attended, between them consuming 6.7 million litres of beer and eating more than 114 oxen. The festival spans just over two weeks and is held annually in a meadow just outside Munich’s city centre. In addition to eating, drinking and dancing, visitors can enjoy colourful parades, a variety of fairground rides – and for those not themselves in traditional Bavarian gear, admire those that are.

These zebras are certainly earning their stripes - battling through thousands of wildebeest to cross one of the Serengeti's fast flowing rivers. The annual migration sees wildebeest move across the plains in search of fresh grazing opportunities. As they move they must attempt to travel across these frantic water crossings. But as they did - a smaller group of around 10 zebra were also attempting to cross which left them fighting to make their way through the herd.
