The world's bravest raccoon hitches a ride on an alligator in Florida. Richard Jones was visiting Ocala National Forest when he spotted something strange in the Ocklawaha River — a raccoon riding an alligator. The alligator quickly submerged and the raccoon swam away to safety.

A picture taken by Nikki Davies of Yellow Water Cruises of a giant saltwater crocodile holding a smaller croc in its mouth in the Kakadu region of northern Australia. A five-metre (16-foot) crocodile put on the spectacular display for a passing tour boat, attacking and chomping on a smaller croc before plunging it into an unsurvivable 'death roll'.

It was thrush hour at a busy road junction when a mother bird chose to build her nest in this set of traffic lights. The mistle thrush picked the unlikely location on a busy ring road for a home for her eggs, where she spent weeks nurturing them until they hatched. The protective mother continued to care for her young by bringing them worms to eat and keeping predators at bay until the three fledglings were strong enough to flee their nest. The striking sight caught the attention of thousands of passing pedestrians and motorists, as well as photographer Paul Green, who captured these intimate pictures.

A mother hippo clamps a crocodile in its jaws as the huge reptile struggles to break free. The confrontation broke-out on the edge of Lake Panic in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Stunned amateur photographer Ken Haley snapped the photo. “The female hippo and her calf were in the dam about a hundred metres away from the main hippo pod,' explains Ken. 'The crocodile was lying still on the shore pretty much minding its own business when suddenly the hippo charged out of the water and attacked the crocodile.”

A Burger King employee shows off the new 'Red' burgers at a restaurant in Tokyo, Japan. The AKA Samurai Burger and the Samurai Chicken Burger will go on sale from July 3 at Burger King stores all across Japan and come with red buns, red cheese and a hot sauce made of miso and hot pepper. The burgers get their red color from tomato powder added to the buns and cheese. The red burgers come as a follow up to the fast food chains black burgers realeased in 2014.
