An international sniping competition opens on the outskirts of Beijing on October 18, 2018. Hosted by Chinese armed police forces, the competition invited contestants from member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and countries along the Belt and Road. The competition consists of 12 major events including close-range sniping, hostage rescue and comprehensive combat. This is the second such competition hosted by Chinese armed police forces. NATO and Norway are preparing for one of the largest military exercises ever held in the country. During some hectic weeks this October and November, around 50,000 participants from all over NATO and its partners will be coming to Norway for exercise Trident Juncture 2018.

British, and American soldiers are transported to a training mission in an U.S. Army 12th Combat Aviation Brigade Chinook near Rena, Norway on October 27, 2018. The units are part of NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force, which is exercising in Norway as part of Trident Juncture 2018. NATO and Norway are having the largest military exercises ever held in the country. During October and November, around 50,000 participants from NATO and its partners are in Norway for exercise Trident Juncture 2018. The exercise tests the military chain from troop training at the tactical level, to command over large forces. It trains the troops of the NATO Response Force and forces from other allies and partners, ensuring they can work seamlessly together.
