Hmm... how about a five thousand year old history of continuous civilisation? Lol, just messing with ya.

What's that have to do with this thread? the title is "What You Love about the US and the West."..not comparing the US and west to China. Which I have much respect for.

Another thing I love about living in the US is that Today if I had the money I could go out and buy a car without a special permit, lottery or proof of having a parking spot for said vehicle...unlike in many nations.

I could by a home anywhere I wanted if I had the financing.

If I was a migrant worker in the US I could enroll my children in the public school and not have to send them to a special school for migrants. And once again live where I wished as long as I could afford it.

I like the fact that unlike some nations there's no special tax on my usage of media devices.

I'd better stop there before I get too revved up.

What I love about this thread is that people here can speak with passion and positivism of their appreciations and respect of a certain culture without feeling there are ego drums, intentional malicious comparisons, or display arrogance.

It also reminds us of what's good about a culture despite some areas we may not agree with.

I also forget to mention that the West puts a lot of focus on social issues and human rights, and that's certainly something I really endorse.

I give a giant thumbs up for ABC for opening this thread.
If we start to have other threads in the future, we can definitely share even more ideas and what we love even more. That way no one would feel compelled to having the need to express their social identity and values in a matter that could otherwise cause misinterpretation.

What I love about the United States of America, one everyone comes hear. I just ate at a pizzeria owned Turkish emigrants their cashier is French and one of their cooks is Mexican . I just passed though a gaggle of girls that would have turned Equation into a steaming puddle of mush. Speaking Japanese, Korean, various forms of Chinese, Hindu, Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, French , Hebru, Russian, Georgian, German and any number of other lovely tongues..
Two everyone is treated the same. If you feel that you are being offend against so did ever other group to come here. The American dream is not handed over its grappled its not easy but when someone does pull it off they can rise like a rocket into the sky.
Three this is the land of Inovation. Powered flight was born here by two tinkering brothers. Mach speed was clocked here the power reactor was built here. I heard not to long ago someone counted the number of pocket programs being run around the world for space launches. Russia two, China one, India one, Europe one. Japan one, Brazil one all government and in China's case military then the USA seven with more pending! Three government programs the SLS, Atlas with Locheed Martin and Boeing's delta rocket. The remaining? All commercial! SPACEX has two systems and orbital sciences has two systems. Why more impressive? Because Space X has already undercut every government program in terms of price and still has a good safety record. Its space for the people and space that will allow those next big steps not political space. Not but the budget loose the program not I need this program too keep my voters happy. This is why I love America because we can still blaze new trails even when everyone is trying to kick up when were down.

I also forgot to mention what I like about America is that you can become a military officer regardless of your race and background, giving that of course you are a US citizen, have a college degree, and completed all necessary officers candidate, ROTC, or service academies training.
