It's not that bad when you're really hungry and been in the field for days. I like the 5 hot dog wieners in the MRE's, along with the beef stew and chicken a la king are my favorite.
In Philadelphia, a 10 year old boy was late getting home and his mother confronted him.
The boy spun a tale about how a homeless man assaulted him at a gas station when he asked if he could earn some extram money to pump gas. The home;lss man was already there doing that.
The boy said the man assaulted him so the mother grabbed several of her friends, a hammer, some mace...and went to the ga station. This video is what ensued:
The man is severally injured with brain trauma and fighting for his life.
the only problem is...witnesses indicate that the homelss man never touched the kid. Simply told him he was already doing the work. Why the kid was so late getting home is still not known.
The Mom and one friend have been arrested for attempted murder. The police are looking for the others who got out of that van.

The boy also better receive some severe punishment for his role, kids who cause serious trouble tend to be treated too leniently.
I agree...but the mother may go to jail...and there may well not be a father in the home.
(My opinion: which IMHO, is one of the principle problems generating this type of behavior in the first place. Sometimes is cannot be helped (death of the father...divorce due to really necessary reasons, etc). But we have an epidemic of this condition around the world and the social impact is not good.)

A group itself is already emboldened, aka a mob, and will any individual becomes an easy victim, much less a homeless man.

I don't think this was the boy's fault. At most, he was wrong for lying to his mom. It's not his responsibility that his mom decided to break the law based on his lie.
It is absolutely the boy's fault which caused the entire thing. He slandered the homeless man and falsely accused him, which instigated everything else.
We don't know if the boy knew what the mom was going to do, but if he did then he is further directly responsible for not preventing her actions by telling her the truth or by calling the police to prevent the violent confrontation.
