Thanks for posting..Honestly I don't see how the footage is rare. I've seen it and clips of it many times...years ago.

No offence, that's HOW PROPAGANDA works: bomb you with the intented information with repeats (but not necessary one after another).

But you bet guys, I am proud and honored to watch this original footages - That's how you define "rare".

My point is: "propaganda" is a neutral word, as shown that "force of justice" also utilize it - don't eat the sack "only &&&& uses propaganda". - Rather OT in respect of the Japan Surrender topic, but worth mentioning.

How is that film propaganda? It was a news event reported at that time and now preserved in history. The Allies crushed Japan.

apologies if I said 'rare' maybe rare for me LOL... anyway after watching the clip I can;t help but realize the significance of Adm. Halsey in the USN.
Any reason why no class of ships are ever named after him? I know there's a Burke DDG named USS Halsey but I think there should be a class named after him since he has contributed much to the USN.

Lord Vader, I am not here to bash - I too enjoys it.

The more NEUTRAL defination of the word "propaganda", let's wait more people to come and read the posts and comments on their own non-sterotyped judgement.

We got these nice little things called WWII posters & flyers in the photo section of this forum, which labled "propoganda", which consists ALL the major powers' production of that time. - No bash, propaganda is a neutral thing.

^^^I understand this time Red___Sword!

Halsey hated the Japanese until the day he died. That may have something to do with it.

I noted that the commentator mentioned the end of eight years of war, for China.

Re propaganda, Dr. Goebbles has given the word a bad reputation. The Vatican had a "Sacra Congregatio de Propaganda Fide", a department for the propagation of the faith, founded in 1622 by Pope Gregory XV. It was renamed to "Congregatio pro Gentium Evangelizatione" by Pope John Paul II. Perhaps to get rid of the word Propaganda?
