While I am waiting on my Type 055 in 1/350 scale to gt here (and it came today), I decided to build a Monogram model I have had for almost 20 years...my 1/72 scale B-1B lancer.

It came to be painted in the cold war, European camo colors, but I painted it in today's Darker gray.

The B-1B is still a very potent weapon.

Capable of Mack 1.2 and very low level flight, it can carry up to 20 ALCM each, each of which can be either conventional or nuclear.

Not to mention all of its other guided munition, and tons of unguided bomb capability.

I built this one with an all out ALCM load on it.

Awesome aircraft

Here's pictures of the aircraft itself:

More complete pics...you can see that the horizontal stabilizers also work:

...and there she is, loaded for bear...with 14 ALCMs on the fuselage points and another six internal in the rotary launcher.

ready to take the fun to the "bad guys",,, lots of folks have now been on the receiving end of the BONE!

a very strong airframe, lots of hours at low-level penetration, beating it up, if you search you-tube there is a B-1B pulling up and doing an aileron roll as it "goes ballistic"!
