It's Not What The U.S. Is Deploying To Saudi Arabia, It's The Structure Of The Deployment
A new Air Expeditionary Wing is being set up in The Kingdom, which will be able to accommodate large influxes of airpower over the long term. https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zo...di-arabia-its-the-structure-of-the-deployment

well noticed in Internet people saying like this is the Pentagon focusing on Russia and China now
    emoticon of sarcasm

could be now Trump reached his own "Mission Accomplished" moment
    [IMG]
    :
“Look, we have no soldiers in Syria,” Trump said, falsely, on Thursday. “We’ve won. We’ve beat ISIS. And we’ve beat them badly and decisively. The last thing I want to do is bring thousands and thousands of soldiers in and defeat everybody again. We’ve already done that.” https://www.defenseone.com/threats/...bandoning-kurds-syria/160565/?oref=d-topstory

... and now he describes what he says he learned in the last 24 hours:
U.S. "preparing to evacuate" remaining troops from northern Syria, defense secretary says https://www.cbsnews.com/news/turkey...l-troops-from-northern-syria-face-the-nation/

wasn't in the mood to listen to him really after like three sentences

inside https://www.defenseone.com/threats/2019/10/us-defense-secretary-we-are-not-abandoning-kurds-syria/160565/?oref=d-river noticed this, ehm, coincidence:

"The United States and Turkey over the summer had established a so-called “security mechanism,” designed to address Turkish concerns about the SDF and prevent an attack. ... As part of that security deal, the SDF had complied with U.S. requests to pull back its own defensive fortifications — leaving them vulnerable when Turkey attacked."

to my surprise, with the Pentagon under the CR, leaving Syria
Strategic, long-range cannon preps to jump its first tech hurdle https://www.defensenews.com/digital...e-cannon-preps-to-jump-its-first-tech-hurdle/

inside, quote, Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville told Defense News in a recent interview. “If we are able to develop the strategic, long-range cannon system, the rounds may be only $400,000 or $500,000 compared to multimillion-dollar rounds.” etc.

    terrific

    how is it going?

    inside
Despite rising awareness of critical US sealift shortfalls, solutions are elusive https://www.defensenews.com/naval/2...-us-sealift-shortfalls-solutions-are-elusive/
    :

“This is an absolute critical issue for the United States naval enterprise,” Spencer said. “No, we have not funded this correctly because it’s portfolio management: I have to fund on a priority basis. This is a really hard balance, and it is being done painfully right now, but we have to get after it.”

    oh really?
