Midway had a angled flight deck enough unusual

Pearl Harbor, Hawaii ~ August 22 ~ 28, 1991
Midway was relieved as the Navy's forward-based aircraft carrier by USS Independence, CV-62 in what was known as The Great Carrier Swap-Out. Midway continued on to NAS North Island in San Diego, California, where she was decommissioned in 1992 and towed to Bremerton, Washington

Midway's angle deck is the same or nearly the same as an Nimitz class. I remember that from some USN training..
For its positioning very offset at an angle to the outside surely done for compensate an inferior size ok carrier's specialist o_O
