    So Italy is in, the aim is ITAR free, MBDA weapons at the core.

    No denial of the Lockheed Martin solid position. However this isn’t a competition between Tempest and Lightning.
    Lightning fills some roles but Tempest would fill others.

    Two Rival programs.
    1. Tempest UK,Sweden,Italy
    2. Système de combat aérien futur France,Germany, Spain
    F35 is already being bought Tempest won’t be flying until 2035. It might compete with F-X or F/A-XX but not the F35. Since we don’t have solids on those US programs right now Poland is up for grabs.
