Type-52C Combat Data System & Main Radar

Hi All,

Does anyone have any information on these? I've seen much speculation on the web, but no hard info. Supposedly the main phased array radar is a Ukrainian design and the combat information system is a development of the Thales Tavitac 2000 system (a powerful but mainframe-based system that would be expensive to maintain and develop).

Does anyone have any info on how the Combat Data Sys, the Radar and the S-300 missile system were integrated? This would be a tremendous achievment for China, something china is definitely capable of but still a systems integration undertaking many times more complex and expensive than any attempted up to now.

Info from Chinese-language sources would be particularly appreciated.

Well thats pretty much what is known...and even those are just specualtions. I haven't come agross anything truly realible information on anything regarding 052C, not even it's weapon systems. The SAM system is some sort of variant from the S-300 series, but wheter its the indegenious and mystic HQ-9 or just the basic russian missile remains to be seen. Also the SSMs are in the mist, some says they are C-805 and some YJ-62 and there is no hard info on neither system...i once threw out a speculation that they might be even the Club-N wich china is supposedly just aguired whit those new Kilos...but who knows?

The proplem isen't just these new DDGs, many other new (and some old) weapon systems are behind shaddows, J-10 hasen't revieled all its secrets, neither the Type 98. And surely it doesent help that in these kind of forums, some kids try to bulshit us whit wild dreams of theirs and confusing the issue even more...

Which is why I tend to not take people seriously if they act immature, are known to follow certain trends, or have little grasp of the language and grammar rules (foreigners notwithstanding).

As for the 52C. Until there is a public announcement by the PLAN, I doubt we're going to know for certain what is on there.

Amen to that. We could name names but that would be immature!

I remember reading on the web that the PRC had used stolen Aegis technology on new destroyers. Who knows for sure? I don't..Check this link out..

it might be an intergration of stolen aegis with thales input. the phassed array radar is probably ukrainian.

Strange, I was under the impression that YJ-85 and YJ-62 are similar things. As for HQ-9, it looks to be a downgraded S-300 series. I heard that they are co-developing HQ-16 with Russia.

theres no reason to assume the hq-9 is inferror to s-300. the individual missle lid cancept has some advantages over a revolver. i'm going to assume the two missle systems have very similar performance. thats why china fitted the 52cs with the hq-9 and are fitting the 51c's with s-300.

chinese anti-ship missle always have an export designation. yj-83=c-803
yj-85=?

one question, wheres the fire control radar for the HQ-9/S-300? is it with the PAR?

probably not Ukranian. Considering that Kvant doesn't really exist. And on top of that it's APAR, not P-PAR. Let's not forget that while Kvant was still on the drawing board, the radar on the 052C was already being tested on 970.

I've repeatedly said this, the PAR used in the KS-1A system is a much more likelier candidate.
