Well, I got my 3D model of the 1/350 scale Type 055 and have now completed detailing it out and putting it together.

The Type 055 is a very powerful vessel, with the type of armament, sensors, systems, room, and design that will allow the PLAN to have a true major anti-air defense leader for their carrier groups and other large task forces, like large Amphibious groups.

With 112 VLS cells that appear to have modularity (meaning they can launch various types of missiles(, and with the 24 cell HQ-10 FL-3000N launcher, the PLAN now has a vessel with 136 ready to launch missiles in defense of its carrier groups, and a ship with large enough radar arrays and sophistication to be able to guide that defense.

I got my 3D Model from the user Dutch Naval Miniatures at Shapeways 3D. Here are the pictures of the vessel itself, the first of which was launched this summer, with three other building simultaneously.

It appears that they will build four at a time for at least tow or three iterations, if not more.

So, when thisfirst one if officially sent to sea for trials and then later handed over to the PLAN and commissioned, you can expect three more to come out over the following year or so there aftr, and then have four more about every 2 years or so...maybe three...for the foreseeable future.

This will, along with the Type 052D DDGs which have similar capabilities but with g4 VLS cells + 24, is going to make a tremendous impact on the Western Pacific.

China had already established itself as the 2nd largest and most capable Navy in the region, and continues to build on that position and number. The other nations see it and are building too...but they, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, etc. are building their navies with smaller numbers but with technology to fit into US Navy battle groups as a method of collectively trying to keep the balance of power.

Here is the 1st Type 055 and the model as I received it:

I can shange it to 101 o whatever it comes out as as soon as they put one on it.

I just didn't want to wait to complete the model.
