The diagonal facet under the bridge is clearly intended for a large phased array antenna. Yet there seems to be no indication of any cut out to accommodate such an antenna. This suggest to me this mock up is not necessarily intended to mount the ship's sensors.

They only tested one half of the ship since the set up is symmetrical. Pics of it has been posted here long ago.

Here is a view of the other side from an earlier stage, before she was painted. You can see the large PAR hole on this side.

I remember Bltizo posted a pic of 052D and 055 size comparison from the side a while back, now wangwenliang of CJDBY using the satellite photo of the 055 model and 052D to compare the size of these two DDGs from the top angle. His conclusion is that 055 is wider and longer than 052D, but the heigh is about the same comparing to 055.

I'm not sure I fully agree with his conclusion -- 055 will definitely be longer and wider than 052D, but it should likely also be taller than 052D (and with higher draft as well)
That is to say, 055 should likely have a higher "freeboard" which is the height measured between the waterline of the ship and the upper deck level at the lowest level of sheer.
Higher freeboard should also mean a higher superstructure relative to 055 as well, all things being equal.

I also think his depiction of he RHIB davit is wrong (the mock up seems to suggest it is in the aft hangar structure rather than stored in the forward superstructure), and he also includes the white "protrusion" posterior to the smoke stack supersturcture which I have speculated as possibly mock-up exclusive.

Edit:
there were a couple of comparison pics I modified before, comparing 052D to a notional 055.

I have now modified the second one a little bit to show how a higher freeboard for 055, which I think will be present. The grey line is the waterline for both ships at same level, red line is 052D's freeboard, while the green line is 055's freeboard height which is slightly higher. The freeboard difference might be exaggerated a little bit in the picture for the sake of comparison, but I do believe 055 will likely have a higher freeboard by a little bit.

It seems that after the production run of the Type 052D DDG and the Type 054A FFG is finished. Then the Type 055 and the Type 056 will be the only game in town. There are at the moment no new designs or types on the table or even being rumored.

With the introduction of 8 new Type 052D and 4 new Type 054A in the coming years the PLAN will be very well endowed. And the navy can sit back and produce Type 055 at its leisure.

What Type 054B ? I don't think there is such a program. But lets wait untill the Type 054A production run is finished next year. We have seen a "commencement ceremony" for the construction of the first Type 055 last year on 29 december but so far nothing. I guess that was a false start.

I think there is enough noise to suggest that a next generation frigate to replace 054A in production is definitely in the works.

As for the commencement ceremony for 055's construction, we may not see or be able to identify its modules until they begin to resemble a hull in the building hall. It might take over a year from commencing fabrication of the first 055's first module until we get to positively ID it under the cover of the building hall.
