I haven't, but it sounds reasonable and if it has started construction at JN that corresponds with the construction ceremony from a while ago.

I'd be surprised if they weren't in construction. The steel-cutting ceremony of the first unit occured in late 2014.

Does anyone here have any idea on which hangar in the militar area is the first hull being built? i mean, i think that there are also type 052d hulls being built there (i havent keep up with the type 052d thread) so is there any hangar that right now seems empty?

I guess its too early to know which hallway 055 will be built in ............as i imagine the 055 at best is in early stage of modules being built!

Type 055 is a very large warship like a capital ship it will really put PLAN up there right at the top with other regional heavy weights

Heavy VLS load and powerful statement I guess it will be a while before we start seeing launches

But let's hope we can catch some glimpses

Only one building hall has been used for the last few years for 052D serial production so they have another one that can potentially be used for 055. It is conceivable that they may simultaneously work on a 052D and a 055 or even two 055s at the same time, eventually

I would guess that it would be built in the hall in which the first 052D was assembled.

I would not be surprised to learn, that the yard had a specific hallway and team that specialised in initial construction and establishing the precise construction programme optimal for serial production.
It means that afterwards, the other halls can be configured in precisely the manner required for full production.

I have searched for this construction ceremony and havent found anything except an image of a blue billboard with 055 and a bunch of chinese caracters. Does anyone has found more than that?
