basic research initiated during the ninth five years plan (1996-2000). project formally launched in 2004. still in development.

Seems like he is saying that during the 1996-2000 planning cycle, they put in place a plan for these extended range munitions. Then, in 2004, that project officially kicked off, and that it is still under development.

Chinese radar guided naval gun shell. Quoted to be 76mm.

Pretty much the equivalent to the Oto Melara STRALES DART radar guided shell, capable of intercepting aircraft and cruise missiles.

Oh that's not a problem, I don't really mind not being credited; I was just wondering who else might have seen it and what their opinion might have been of it.

Think we should hopefully start to see the Type 055 under construction soon , it would be the one which protects those carriers and they would need to do a lot of work up and sailing before these are ready for carrier escort duties

Formation sailing in a carrier strike package is no small feat it will take some serious years of work by PLAN and they are certainly looking in the right direction

2015 I hope is the year we see Type 055, LHA/LHA and indigenous carrier !!! Why not let's splash out
