That's a kind of question you can only ask the decision makers in the PLAN for this. Otherwise, you only get opinions, or just sit back and enjoy what pops up new everyday.

101, yet to be named but likely 102, and 154 at the pier. Via LKJ86 at the PDF.

4 of these would make a amazing surface action group

That’s just shy of 450 VLS

    A lot of fire power

Thank you immensely by78 for your High Resolution photos.

This 055 Class ship has without doubt one of the most beautiful set of lines in marine/naval architecture history.

China is certainly going to have the most aesthetically pleasing fleet on the seas. Nearly all of their ship classes look so sleek, even the 071 and 901, which are ship types not known for being graceful but they manage to be so!

Okay, so I have a question about this image.

So the above photo should definitely be from DL
In that image, we can see that the 055 in this image actually has its main arrays seemingly installed, a major milestone.

The images from August 31st in post #6993 below, OTOH, show that the radar arrays have yet to be installed; the holes are gaping and lack arrays. We can see some internal frames and structures present in the openings, suggesting installing the arrays would've definitely been one of the subsequent next steps.

What are the chances that in the 7 days between August 31st and yesterday, that they were able to install those arrays pictured -- or is there a chance that the pictures in post #6993 were taken some time earlier but only released on the internet later?

In any case, it appears one of the 055s at DL at any rate seem to have reached a major milestone of having at least some of its major arrays installed, which is indicative of where it is in terms of fitting out.

It's possible that images in post #6993 were taken earlier. The Weibo user never specifies when his photos are taken, but I check his feed daily and share his updates on the same day they are made available. Installing two arrays (because we can't see the front arrays) or four in seven days doesn't sound too much of a tall ask. They only have to insert them into the slots and weatherproof the outside. I suspect the backend wiring and calibration may take a while longer.

multiple sources are saying the 5th will launch soon in JNCX, as discussed here: https://lt.cjdby.net/thread-2586156-1-1.html. This will be the 6th Aegis type surface combatant launched this year. If one more is launched this year after the 5th 055, it will be a new record of Aegis type vessels launched per year. The previous record was held by US in 1992 with 3 Tico and 3 Burkes launched in the same year.

A type 052d is expected from jiangnan later this year. It'll be sixth of the class launched this year.
    That'll certainly break the record.
